Not seen a throw like that since Stephan Andersen! His distribution is better than what we have been used to in recent years and played a vital role in the goal yesterday! We just need a better song/chant for Elliot
His throws reminded me of Peter Schmeical. His save at the one on one at the start of the game was fantastic, I think he's now a better keeper than Weaver.
Still a lbit suspect on crosses but so far, the defence have bailed him out and to be fair he has not even reached 50 games for us yet! Certainly feel more confident with him in goal than Weaver this time last year
Still nervous about his decision making when the ball comes into the box - that being said he is good enough at this level and the ability to start attacks quickly and effectively is a great asset.
No he doesn't always get it right on crosses, but he's only 23, and as a keeper, could be 10+ years off his peak. He should keep getting better and better. Like WSS said he's definitely good enough for this level.

Very true. As CAFCdan18 said he's played all of 50 games which is nothing for a keeper and many of them behind Mark Hudson!.
He is a good shot stopper, his throwing and kicking are strong but he sometime comes and doesn't get the ball but he is decisive and when he comes he comes. He's not being caught in no mans land or just staying on his line.

Is your c**k as long as your throw?
Why don't you call him to find out Nathan? I mean I don't care how big a players cock is personally. all I care about is winning games! Come on Robbie's reds!!
His only weaknesses is the odd flap at a cross but he will sort that and be an excellent keeper..def potential to play in the Premiership IMO and already far better than Weaver was (afterall the only reason Weaver never dropped crosses is that he never ever came out to claim one).

hear hear....more than done enough to keep his position as No.1, he will only get better....his distribution is fantastic.
You just have to remember that Elliot is 21 going on 22 and in his first full season as first choice keeper. It is normaly thought that keepers reach their best form in the their late twenties and hopefully hold it at that level for many years. I believe he is one of the best keepers in the country at his age.
some keepers reach their best form when younger , keepers like richard wright, paul robinson, chris kirkland, scott carson have got worse imo from when they first arrived on the scene

Most of those keepers got messed around with and perhaps had too much pressure and too many expectations. As with Shelvey, a season or two learning his craft at Charlton will pay dividends further down the line.
Elliot gets better every time I see him, but the main thing he lacks is experience and reading a game - eg knowing when to come out and punch, and when to stay back. Things like that come with match time.
I have no problem with our keeper, he's Charlton through & through & we as fans will give him more leeway because of that. But I cannot remember when he has come for & caught a single corner this season, mainly comes & misses the ball completely. To be fair though that is his only weakness.
It was his all round enthusiasm and commitment to the cause that stood out for me when he first got in the side, which was something in short supply with some of the dross we had seen around and during that time.
Since then he has improved no end, which looks like it could be due to his increased confidence, weight loss and playing game after game.
Nowhere near the best keeper that I have seen play for the club but at the moment he is more than good enough.
