On the original credits the film was dedicated to "the brave Mujahideen". Whatever happened to them?
Not sure if it still is on the end of the film, I fell asleep hour into it

The Mujahideen turned in to the Taliban...
After the Soviet Union retreated from Noadestan they briefly took over but fell into infighting as competing warlords conducted a bloody civil war. One lot eventually won (the Taliban) and took control of Kabul. A splinter group, which became known as the Northern Alliance carried on fighting and eventually allied themselves with Nato after the invasion of 2001.
