lucky?

edited September 2009 in General Charlton
I noticed in the (sub) Standard tonight a snippet of wise words from the spanner in chief (top monkey wrench?) bemoaning the fact that they had 11 senior players unavailable due to injury at the weekend. Are we incredibly lucky 6 games into the season or has the whinger got to put things like that out to prevent his house being fire bombed after a defeat? I am not sure they have 11 senior players anyway.

I think we have been incredibly lucky, plus the fact we are on fire at the mo means no one wants to miss a game and risk losing their place to someone else which can be difficult to get back in a winning team. When your players are desperate to play for you then you know as a manager you are doing something right. When you are playing for a club you have no respect for and live even further from than our players and have no connection with, I guess you pay the doc to say you have swine flu and put your feet up. I seem to remember our injury list being quite extensive the last few years when times were hard.

  • I believe you make your own luck this season we have just been the better team on the day
  • Agree with that and would love to see a list of the 11 senior players they are missing that would worry oppo teams so much if they were fit. I reckon I may have heard of 4 of em and 2 might even have played at a higher level (Jills) in the past!
  • We were nursing Richardson, Semedo and Racon through the game v Brentford.

So it seems a bit touch and go to keep the unchanged side.
    Fingers crossed.
  • Full weeks rest, I am hopeful they will be ok.
