  • "I'm pleased for him and the player I left there"

That annoyed be but I don't know why!
  • Read the Southampton OS, didn't really say anything that bad I thought. Unless we look at every little quote and nit-pick it.
  • So not only does he absolve himself of blame for anything, he then takes the kudos if something goes well even if he has nothing to do with it!

    Complete and total tw*t.

    Agree.

[cite]Posted By: razil[/cite]the biggest problem is he took a lot of money of us that we desperately needed, and forced us to sell one of our best players, after wasting loads of shite and relegating us twice.. saviour don't come into it. Anyone with a shred of decency would have resigned.

Wait - you were never going to stay up in the Premiership. He didn't relegate you, your board did by appointing an idiot like Dowie when you needed to build from Curbs.

You could argue that, however I feel that given that we had some decent players, and one of the best strikers in the league, survival was possible. What did Pards do, he signed an expensive and unproven defender, when what we needed was a striker to support Bent who was on his own, and took his foot off the gas once we were in with a shout. That alone wouldn't merit resignation, however what followed the 2nd two seasons was a disgrace. Dowie did sign some wronguns in Faye and Traore, although one of those has been relatively successful since - but he also signed Reid and and Diawara both of whom are decent enough players for prem survival.

I don't blame pards for the Premiership relegation,Dowie, the board,Uncle Les and the Fulham linesman are way ahead in the queue, but evrything after ---- oh yes
  • I' m all for having a dig at Pardew. But come on, it wasn't all him. There were mistakes, acknowledged by the Board prior to him becoming manager.

Where I think he should take major criticism is that as a manager in the Championship, he had at his disposal the 2nd largest budget yet we finished mid-table and were in the bottom three when he left.

He signed a number of strikers; none except for Iwelumo made a significant impact and he seemed to get worse as the season went on. He signed a right back whom he claimed was better than Luke Young. He then proceded to ignore him and played loanees for the rest of the season. He bought Racon, played him once, then sent him out on loan when what we needed after Reid was sold, was a ball playing midfielder. He signed countless loanee wingers, many of whom weren't match fit. He signed a forward in the January window and then went out and loaned in a half-fit Leroy Lita, whom he prefered to all the other strikers he'd signed. He brought back Youga who looked decent and turned him into a liability. He chopped and changed the formation so much that the players didn't know whether to have a sh*t or a haircut.

His problem in the end was that he couldn't get a consistant performance out of a decent bunch of players. Confidence was diminished not enhanced, and the rest is history.
