I said to Ketters, NLA and co in the Lib before hand this would be a tough test, because offensively they are direct, and have pace and power about them. As i said on the match thread, they really stopped us playing a lot more than other sides have.
Amazed reading their forum a few saying they had dropped the long ball stuff today and played better football. Fug me, i've never seen the ball in the air so much. Glad we matched it, but didn't get sucked into it too much and still played our game.
Word for their supporters. I'm a general defender of our club not a knocker, but charging away fans (and home fans) £25 to watch an early KO live on the telly was, well a piss take that i thought Charlton were above. Sadly not.
Given the circumstances, i thought it was a fantastic turnout for a club that gets 5k at home, and they sung proudly right to the last whistle.
Perhaps they saw the match as a bit of a Cup Final .... ?
Got to say, credit to their manager. He had them playing as a team, fighting for every ball - and were still giving it their best effort right up to the final whistle.
Considering their defensive frailties i thought they did well. Lets face it we're one of the hardest away days for alot of clubs in this division and Brentford's tactics today were the way to go about things imho. Too many teams will come to to the Valley and defend(as Andy Scott stated after the game) but Brentford tried to play with a little freedom and had some good chances to get back into the game

;o)
Played 3 at the back to match us in the middle. Thought their top up top were busy and could do well.
We coped well but they wasted a lot of corners. Bailey headed at least hafl away at the near post.
They were a decent side but we were better. They have huddersfield next week. ,ets see who wins that one.
