For both Leeds and us, the question will be about the strength we both have in depth. Until today the general comment about Leeds has been that they are a one man team - Beckford - today's result belies this. Our test will come soon.
[cite]Posted By: Nelsenout[/cite]They are now 8 unbeaten in all competitions, not too bad?
14 wins on the trot at home in the league I believe.
they have wobbled a bit away from home (Walsall) but are going to be a tough nut to crack at Elland Road. I'd like to think people will be saying the same about us and the Valley.
Norwich, Leeds and Colchester away coming up, the fixtures so far have nicely built us up, these will be real challenges and I'd be happy with 5 points out of these.
[cite]Posted By: cblock[/cite]Beckford missing for dirty Leeds, surely Stockport were the ideal opponents
with home advantage as well, to be missing there main man.
Stockport are a good team at this level, wouldnt agree with that atall, unless they dont travel well?
[cite]Posted By: cblock[/cite]If you are going to be without your better players, like beckford for leeds,
Stockport must be ideal opponents rather than huddersfield, norwich etc
How good are Leeds?
I'd say very good. I know nothing of their present team but as I have said many times before, things in sport go in cycles - or Peaks and Troughs. Leeds are a modern big club., although not actually a REAL big club like for example Huddersfield or Blackpool wallowing in the lower leagues.
However they have the infrastructure: Crowd, Ground and a Premiership Pedigree that is still valid. Unlike an Oldham, QPR or dare I say us?
I think after too many near misses in both League 1 and The Championship, Leeds are due for an up.
Just for the record, I think Millwall have had their peak in this cycle and will do nothing this season.
Leeds to go up as Champions and us in second - unless we get a goalscorer - because Burton will get injured this year and we will be behind in games this year and will need Plan B....!
