Look it up in the Oxford dictionary P......................you'll find it between 'incredible and 'increment'.

Hey? We're going to look decent in the press!
  • The missing 4K were those that left the east stand with 20 mins to go.
  • Both the BBC (text) and the Observer are reporting the gate as 15,306, which is also different from the official figure. That is probably the figure put out by the Press Association, which will be the one used in most results listings. That isn't in the club's control.

Meanwhile I am told the reason the wrong figure appeared on the screen is that the computer would not save the correct number and regurgitated one from the end of last season.

The joke I heard was that "the sudden fall in the attendance was the East and West stands leaving 10 minutes early to avoid the traffic."

Editted: damn, just scrolled back and saw that i was beaten to that joke.
  • Hey, we're getting bigger crowds than Millwall ...... how can this be?

    Discuss!

    ;o)
  • The lower attendance is for the tax man.
  • [cite]Posted By: Airman Brown[/cite]Someone punched in the wrong number. It was quickly corrected over the public address. That's all.

Come on Rick, you know we love a conspiracy on this board.

Do we know yet, how many walk ups we had compared to Wycombe?, what with the club opening the North Stand ticket office on a match day (And I assume the Walsall away following had a massive affect on the total)

Do you mean by walk-up the number who bought on the day or the total home match ticket sale?

Either way we will have sold less tickets for Walsall, but I don't have the figures. There might be any number of reasons for that, but one I think is misunderstood is that people are more likely to come to the first match. The cricket may have cost us a few hundred on Saturday too.

Walsall fans were more than 700 down on Wycombe numbers and STs were up more than 100 between the games.
  • Rick

can i say good move on the cash tills in the north lower as it saved a lot of messing around

also the ticket pricing is exceptionally good value imo 17 quid for nth upper was well worth the money 3 quid cheaper than my orint pal pays

good feelings on and off the pitch concerning the club and value for money

Mainly the ticket sales I suppose, I know the club were expecting a big walk up on the day, I suspect this did not happen, I fear for the gate against Brentford, even if we win at Tranmere, early kick off, Sky game etc.

Might depend on what happens in the meantime, I suppose, but I agree the home turnout against Brentford probably won't be any more than Saturday. Presumably they will bring 1,500-plus, though, which will help.
