Why the hell would he want to go to Forest? The chances are they'll be in a relegation battle this season, the only reason they, and a few other clubs stayed up last season was because we were so bad. If Bailey were to go it would be a to a side in the top half of the table.
i agree 2yrs before curbs left.. they and the standard had a 2 page article on why curbs was leaving to go from charlton to west ham and how the "emotioanl pull" was too strong for him.
I used to buy that paper a lot and when they "covered" (and i used covered looselly) on our games.... not only did they get some of our players names wrongs but when they "reported" on our games.. I wonder if their reporter was actually at our games as the way they reported on our games was nothing like it. I got so pissed off with it that I stopped buying it out of principle.. couldn't be arsed to read lies about us all the time (same with their news) and I have never bought that paper since and never will.. despite my past support for old labour
I know the star wasn't a proper tabloid paper but we had good coverage in there when we got back to the Valley

IMO Nicky Bailey and the like have only stayed because they have been told that there may be some sort of cash injection at the club. Not because they love the Valley,Phil Parkinson or the fans.If it becomes apparent that this money will not be forthcoming then they will be offf in a shot!

Them being off in a shot if no money is forthcoming would have nothing to do with necessity then?. I.E we sell or go into administration if the takeover doesn't happen?.
Not suggesting they have stayed for the "love", but the board will be pushing them out the door if the TO doesn't happen.

I would have thought that,if we have a good shout for promotion then we'd keep the remaining players, unless we absolutely 100% could not.

It's only to be expected that as the transfer deadline approaches players like Bailey will be on the radar of plenty of clubs. If he were to go, as has been said, it would surely be to a more successful outfit than Forest! Doubt he would be keen to uproot for a move like that.
At the end of the day however (big) money talks when you are in our position. Hope it doesn't happen.

More lazy journalism.

If this were true then they can double that at least to make it slightly more credible.
They've got money. We might not have.
Still, its a Daily Mirror story so I'll treat it with the contempt it deserves.
Bet Southend fans said exactly the same thing !

Either way, they won't be plying their trade here.
