[quote][cite]Posted By: The Red Robin[/cite]I'd have him back. He's better than any of our current forwards.[/quote]
I wouldn't, whilst he has the ability to be better than our forwards, he does not have the attitude. If you compare him with say Iwelumo, at the end of our Premiership years, bent would be sitting in the middle of the park complaining about some injury or another, take Iwelumo against West brom, injured limping, went up for a corner and scored a goal, no complaint but could not play on.
[cite]Posted By: kinveachyaddick[/cite]wouldn't have him back if they paid us shedloads!
his attitude was symptomatic of the downfall of this club over the past 3 yrs which has only just recently seemingly been remedied
Ooh Aah, remind me who paid £2m and £20k a week for him?
Curbs paid that money In a January transfer window when we desperately needed a replacement for the longterm injured Shaun Bartlett to enable us to continue with our relatively successful 4-5-1 system.
I doubt he would have gone anywhere near Bent M otherwise.
[quote][cite]Posted By: kinveachyaddick[/cite]what was wrong with D Bent up front in our relatively successful 4-5-1 system?[/quote]
Nothing much just that he used to score plenty of goals, run after possession and made the most of a less than ideal system which enabled us to strengthen what was then a weak midfield. Bent senior wouldn't run a bath let alone chase after lost possession. Still his hands-on-hips teapot impression was better than Darren Bent's.
Just realised Birmingham actually want a fee!!! LOL.
To be fair he was good at Everton and did a specific job well for them so can understand why Curbs bought him but he lost the plot (with his WAGing etc).

curbishley , the most successful charlton manager in my lifetime and the man who clearly held our club together..... still not good enough for some and we don't deserve him imo.....
