JF apparently is injured but still being considered by Sheff U. ZZ is not thought to have found a new club.
  • Matt Wright's update just said that Fortune turned out for Sheffield United reserves last night when they got thumped 4-1.
  • how about Matt Holland? Signed for anyone?
  • Still training with Colchester
  • Wonder if Holland will wash up as their manager?

I can see Forch never being right again, which oddly may be a good thing for us, though I wish him well
  • Surprised no-one has signed up any of the 3
  • I'm amazed that ZZ who's captain of China still hasn't found a club.

I'm not.Highly over rated. Was the main ' cog ' in a team that gor relegated twice.

harsh very harsh he was injured for a long time last season
  • And he was shocking when Andy Reid got sold, but looked Ok when we were doomed. I'm very glad we're rid of ZZ and not messing around Shelvey, Racon or Semedo.

Quite liked Fortune, but am glad he's moved on...should have happened after the prem. My heart says I'd like Holland to stay but I'm glad he isn't as hopefully we can use that money better.

Strange how everyone who likes ZZ banged on about him chosing prem clubs over us. Where are they now? He'll prob end up WBA if they're mesmerised by Thomas.

  • I don't think that the Chinese season starts for a while, my guess is his agent is touting him around Europe ahead of the transfer deadline, and if nothing materialises then presumably he's got several offers to fall back on in China/Asia, but at less money.

I thought he did ok for us in the prem. Was one of our top scorers in the 1st championship year then missed nearly all of last season and we looked a much better side when he returned.
If i was to make a list of people to blame for the 2 relegations he'd feature a long way down it.
  • What Chris said.
  • Didn't ZZ feature somewhere in the top ten players in the Championship?
  • I heard Matty Holland had a medical at St Marys yesterday

Joined, from China, halfway through one and injured for 90% of the other. In the long list of people culpable for our current state, ZZ is a long way down the list.

what a pile of poo :o)
  • Still do not understand the hostility towards Zheng Zhi. Always played with his heart, loved the club and the community, and continues to get slammed. Unfortunate that CAFC was not able to figure out some way to get him back for another season.

Should it matter, if anyone here can read Chinese, Zhi's blog always made clear his commitment to the team, despite adversity, to folks back home.

If you can't, his love for the club was always made clear through his family's involvement on match day.

For my opinion have to agree with Colin Tat......Strange how everyone who likes ZZ banged on about him chosing prem clubs over us. Where are they now? He'll prob end up WBA if they're mesmerised by Thomas.......
  • Zz is a class player and was not to blame for our demise

  • Cetainly can not blame him for our demise. He was a decent player, not great nut certainly not bad.

The reason he will not have found another club is probably more to do with his international commitments, for all the ability he had he was always off playing for China and when he was with us he was either tired or injured....still I do not blame him, in his position there is no doubt i would always put country very clearly ahead of club and I wish more players did.
  • His comments and injury recovery times always lead me to believe that the player wanted to go on to other things at the club. A player that obviously has ability, but ability that in the league we are in perhaps is not the number one consideration.

A player should put his International duties before club, simple as, however ZZ seemed to be unfortunate at the least with regard to this. He was a player by the past management that was to be a key player that like Todorov and Varney did not work out.

Not the only one's Thomas, Ambrose, so on and so forth. yes some of us are a bit sour in regard to this. After all they are the guys who play the game, kick the ball etc. With Fortune I have no sour comments, the guy was loyal and tried his best as far as I saw him play.

Like the management, and the board the players have to take some of the responsibility of the past seasons IMO. Football is not all mystic art, and smoke and mirrors, ability, money, and talent do have something to do with it, that and supporting the team.
  • Zizi was shit and not to be blamed for demise.
IMO so was fortune really for the last four/five seasons isnt he due a testimonial??? Deffo deserves one.
  • ZZ was a class act. He played his best football on the few occasions Pardew decided to play him up front with Darren Bent. Not surprisingly, Pardew saw it differently and dropped him back into midfield, where he was still very good.
  • Jon scored an amazing goal last night for the blades worth watching ssn for lmost mendonca esque, god knows what he was doing there, brought it down span then bang.. lovely stuff.
  • ZZ being playing fairly regularly for Celtic, not sure how well he has been doing but all the best to him.

He did start out as a centre forward i think.

I thought he rarely played so checked.
5 league starts and 5 sub appearances totalling less than 500 minutes all season.
  • I stand corrected, I thought as he has played in last couple (sure he started at weekend) he had been in team more!

yeah he started in the sunday live game and seemed to be playing in a rather deep role but got forward a little bit, he had a shot cleared off the line by that little scrotum jody morris ...... zz got substituted early on in second half i think
