All I want for Christmas...

edited December 2006 in General Charlton
...is for Les Reed to be a resounding success at Charlton. Nothing more, nothing less. IMHO, he is a good man and doesn't deserve the flak he's getting. He's been left in the shit and If anyone's to blame for getting us into this mess, it's the players. They're just not up to it. As usual, I'll be getting behind the team when they run out onto the field against Fulham and if at the end of the season we get relegated, then so what. Yes, I'll be disappointed but nobody's died. I'll still be there next year with season ticket in hand, shouting my head off.

The future's bright, the future's Red and White.

C'MON YOU REDS

  • Here here, good post man.
  • great post mc moist.

those of you that are braving it tomorrow. well done to you and give those players some encouragement. if 96 of ours can turn up, so can 11 of our players!

    up the addicks!
  • Well said MC Moist!
  • Completely agree I would love to see Les Reed make a success of it,he is Charlton through and through the players should take note.
  • Completely agree !

All i want for Christmas is an end to the sorry mess that's ruled our club for the last few months.

If we go down, i want us to do it with a bit of pride and battle.

I so want Les to prove those that booed him the other night wrong. He'll never be a tub-thumper, but you can motivate people in other ways. I'm praying he proves he can find a couple of nuggets in the transfer window.
  • here here....well said, I think every single CAFC person is dying for him to succeed (lets just hope he's up to it)....as he said the other day, if he wasn't the manager then he'd be in the stand's himself supporting the team.

    I agree.

But unfortunately I am firmly of the opinion that Les is not capable of it. Our last two performances have been a rudderless embarrassment - the players are playing far worse than under Dowie. Much as I'd love to be proved wrong I think we are doomed under Les and that it is only a short matter of time before he is sacked. I would do it now.

I pray I am wrong, but, for once, I have no doubts.
  • We've disagreed on a number of things in the past Salad but I'm 100% with you on this. I pray that in a months time I'm eating humble pie.

Actually, if we stay up I shall donate £100 to either CADSA or Demelza House.
  • Imagine how many bumps this thread will receive by the time we are mid table mediocrity, eh stone!
  • That'll serve me right for coming on here after having a little lunchtime sesh. Still I'd gladly part with the dosh (to a good cause) to see us do the great escape.
