I am bothered. I would like to see us create momentum to the season and I believe the manager needs a win to further enhance his once crumbling reputation which may have hit a nadir.
But I do not think our reserve team will be strong enough so I think Hereford will win.

We need to develop a good team spirit and the best way to do that is by winning games and taking things like this seriously. Plus although we'll field a reserve team we don't habe a big squad and some of those reserves/younger players will be needed in the league at some point this season. When they do get the chance to play in the League I want them to be ready.
Want to see us win but more concerned about keeping everyone fit for saturday, it will also be good experience for any of the youth that get played, they will undoubtable have to play at some point this season and every bit of experience will help in the future, hopefully a bit of experience with small/gray/mcloed/basey/spring/youga/semedo will help us through if not nothing lost
Voted not bothered but I know I'll still be checking teletext Charlton Life!
In reality I'm not bothered to the extent that I'd rather not expose key players to injuries / suspension.
On a wider topic my Spanner colleague who has held a season ticket down there since God was a boy and has been to all but half a dozen or so league grounds with Millwall over the years has no interest in going to watch their match at the Toolbox tonight.
Has the League Cup lost it's appeal if indeed it ever had any?
We need positive momentum, winning also helps create team spirit. The boys need to win, and its competitive football you should play to win every game otherwise what’s the point.
-Hereford have never beaten Charlton.
-Charlton have won six of the eight previous encounters between the two clubs, including a League Cup second-round victory in 1989.
-The Bulls have failed to reach the second round just once since re-entering the League in 2006.
-Hereford have lost a club-record seven consecutive home matches.
-Charlton have been knocked out of the League Cup by lower-division opposition in each of the last three seasons, losing to Wycombe, Luton and Yeovil.

Many thanks to MoG for the links! I don't know if someone wants to give these links their own thread or sticky?
I had a science teacher at school that supported Hereford. Told us how they walk a bull around the pitch before the match, and how Ronnie Radford scored for them in the FA Cup as they beat Newcastle.
-Hereford have lost a club-record seven consecutive home matches.'
with a recent record like that were bound to lose. remember going down 1-0 at home to swindon in the promotion season after a run of 12 wins on the spin and they were rock bottom without an away win all season. also heard that we donated the proceeds from the half time draw to their youth team set up? wonder if anyone would have a whip round for us these days?
yeah remember how our young side won at norwich last year in the cup and it really lifted the whole place for 5 minutes and set us off on our pursuit of safety...
not bothered (except anyone who goes to hereford away midweek in this cup deserves a medal and a win...been there seen it and done it) one bit it's all about the league(one) cos that's where all the excitements at FACT

Can see Semedo.Youga centre back pairing with Basey on the left and Solly if fit on the right?
Exactly what he said....

Dont quite get why people dont want us to go through, especially when a 3rd round trip to Old Trafford could earn us £500k.
Charlton win on pens.

That's a guaranteed Hereford victory then

Yeah, but they haven't lost 7 on the spin this season.
Just meaningless stats.
They've been relegated after only one season in, erm ...... our league.
And no doubt are back at their realistic level.
Anyway, it's a cup match, we couldn't field our strongest side even if we wanted to, so I wouldn't heed stats like those.
