Opposing fans views of the game

Whilst some are all dome and gloom on here after a win, it was interesting chating to what the Wycombe fans thought of the game on Saturday.

Sam was fantastic, totally skinned their left back

Was worried they were going to get battered once the second one went in

Played some great football especially in the first half

We will go up

Once again our fans expectation levels are very high, and it is going to be a long season, threre was even two old boys moaning at the station about the fact that Charlton nearly threw it away:

As Parky pointed out, If Gray had scored, Mcleod scored from the header and when he cut in from the left, the numerous chances we had in the first would half of our fans be slitting theor wrists already.

My suggestion is look at what S'ton and Norwich achieved this weekend and maybe we done ok, three points is three points, there maybe a game this season in which we win 6-0 dominate but we will still only get 3 points.

  • I would still recommend caution. All the way through last season the opposition fans (and often manager) would say we were unlucky and we were too good to go down.

Which goes to show what the opposition know.
  • The more I hear from supporters it seems strange that Sam was taken off. If we were being over-run he's about the best player we have to protect Richardson, especially if made fully aware by Parky. Shelvey's presence for the approach to the second goal was all wrong. Very strange to alter the shape but take off our best double teamer on the right side; when Parky himself said the danger was there.

We were not being over run when he was on, we were comfortable at 3-1 and it was only after we went 442 that the trouble started.
  • I think the reason Sam was taken off was that he looked knackered. About five minutes or so before the substitution he started to cut inside rather than stick to the touch line, which is usually a sign that his legs are going.

Reading fans probably thought that after we thrashed them last season.

Have to agree with this. I personally think Wycombe will be struggling in and around the bottom 6 or 7 clubs so scraping a win doesn't mean we should get carried away.

This is why we need to sign a winger. Wagstaff isn't ready, if he was, he'd have been on in Sam's place. Although Sam makes a lot of mistakes, and frustrates our fans, he's still very dangerous and should do very well in this league. We need someone we can bring on who has a similar threat, and hopefully, a decent enough work rate to help Richardson. Any other midfielder we put there will play like a central midfielder out wide, and with Bailey on the left, we already have one player doing that, which is enough.
  • Try Moutouakil as a winger?
  • Nice to hear WIWLB - It's be nice after 5 games to see how we're doing for us to make a few predictions but a wins a win and I for one was gleaming on Saturday morning here in Vancouver because of it.

Sam has a patella injury (knee) and won't play at Hereford. Also out injured are Llera, Shelvey, Richardson and Dailly.
  • are all of them really injured or is parky saving them for hartlepool. he cant afford to mess up this campaign or the only sack he'll be looking forward to is one with bricks tied to it!

  • Dailly has injured ribs and had to have an injection before the WW game, Llera has 13 stitches in his head, Shelvey has a heel problem, Richardson has a hip injury.
