So is it going to be in use this season or not? For me it made the game a lot more nervous for me not knowing exactly how long the game had left. It said on the OS that it will be used so maybe it was just a technical fault on the day?

It is going to be used this season; but it's bust.
It wasn't possible to show anything yesterday. Trust me we tried right up until 2.30 when it became apparent that it wasn't going to work.
At first we thought it may have been a problem with the line between our room in the NE corner and the screen, so we decamped all of the equipment into the small control box at the back of the screen. It was clear when we fed the feed directly into the processor that one of the units had malfunctioned.
The guys had been in all week making sure that everything worked and it did. It was just bad luck that the equipment decided to die before the match. But at least it didn't do so during the match itself! If you had been in early enough to see it, you would have known why I say that!
The good thing is that the problem is easily fixed and the screen should be back, Fish and all, by the next game.
BDL I reckon you are in the little control box. Couple of requests, can you allow RRR to play right through to the end of the second verse with the little musical bit at the end ( five notes ) before speech comes in? Also, I noticed how the crowd was getting up for it, especially in the couple of minutes just before the players come out, if you have a little window in that box, can it open so you can hear it too, because it is far better when it happens for the build up to be ours, rather than drowing out the supporters with any speech or music, listen to what is happening outside through some kind of window, and judge if any 'rousing' music is really necessary.
I've always thought the "Lord of the Rings" music blasted out before the game is a dreadful idea. The atmosphere before the game was fantastic, we mad such a brilliant noise that would have otherwise been drowned out by what is quite frankly a poor piece of music that has nothing to do with Charlton.
All we need is the band to strike up a few minutes before the team come out, a much better sound than any music.
Seth - I'm outside so I know how loud it was yesterday. If you are in the north we have a problem, as the speakers do not cover the stand as well as the speakers in the other stands, so they have to be turned up. If you are in front of them then it is noisy, if you are to the side then it's not as loud. I think it was spot on yesterday.
The noise you lot made together with a loud tannoy is really effective in the tunnel. It really did sound great in their as they were lining up. That's what we want! We want the opposition to know that they are walking into an intimidating arena.
The reason I spoke over RRR yesterday was that we had a hell of a lot to get through and a minutes applause to announce. I didn't want to be announcing the teams when the ref had called all the players into the centre circle.
It wasn't Lord of the Rings yesterday (actually it never has been), it was Escala and Kashmir.

Can we get rid of the fish BDL, I know it is Bream Team's little PR thingy, but I'd rather they just put their name on the screen and be done with it. Get rid of the Fish!

Now he's gone why don't we ask Parky what he wants instead? (Morrissey I reckon)
And on the bright side, it saved putting a few more 50p's in the meter!

Personally I like the music esp. the stuff from Romeo+Juliet - even if it is a little cheesy
Philistine.
You would though Nick, wouldn't you? (Slash was playing the Guitar!!)
At my age, I'd rather spend the evening with Page & Plant ;-)
Henry is having a bad influence on you!

And no fish!
Fish will change I'm told, but as Dan puts all the work in on the graphics package it's up to him how he advertises his company?
