I don't wish to re-hash old ground re the pro and anti Moo2 arguments, but want to ask a different question. We still have Moo2 and are presumably still paying him not to play. Assuming that the various rumours are true, why is it not possible to terminate a players contract for misbehaviour, especially in regard to the time keeping issues? He would seem to have enough misconduct charges against him that would mean getting the heave ho in other workplaces. Why have we still got him on our wage bill?

Charlton would have to be 100% sure they wouldn't get done for wrongful dismissal and end up having to pay out a contract in full plus potentially more in compensation, before going down that route.
Also, the club might feel that Moo2 has a sell on value and it may be worth holding out for a transfer fee for him.
And if we're talking misconduct clauses, I'd rather see them invoked against managers than players. If Pardew's clueless stewardship didn't represent woeful misconduct and dereliction of duty, then I don't know what does. And yet he walked away with more than a million from us...
Lucky old Southampton. With Pardew in charge it's going to take them a very long time to reach the giddy heights of nil points... only another nine to go, which should probably take them at least until the end of October, I reckon...
