I don't think I am bring greedy about this, but if there is one thing I would like from our return to this disastrous division it is six Charlton goals in a match.
When we were relegated in 1972, one of the few redeeming features of the following season was the 6-0 hammering of Swansea and the 6-2 defeat of Notts County (Flanagan 4) in the space of three weeks that autumn.
Then in September 1976 we beat Southampton 6-2, all three of the games finishing under lights.
In the intervening 33 years, I've seen us concede seven on three separate occasions - at Luton, Brighton and Burnley - and even had to swallow a six at The Valley, to Leeds.
If you go back to 1960/61, which personally I don't, Charllton hit three sixes and a seven at The Valley on one season and the following year they even managed it away from home at Luton.
Now I realise if we do manage it this season all the goals will have to be scored by midfielders and defenders, but if Colchester can get seven at Norwich with our Kev in the thick of the action then surely our time must come again soon . . .
