The start of a new season

edited August 2009 in General Charlton
I feel like a kid at Christmas despite all the knock backs over the last few years. Jumpers for goalposts hmmm.

Can't wait to set off in a couple of hours.

  • Don't mind admitting i'm just not feeling it, and haven't really done in the last few days.

Hoping a decent performance today will get my juices flowing again

    Boo
  • Other than 3rd round FA Cup Saturday, today is the day for dreams.
I know will be playing in the 1st round this year.
  • This time last year when we beat Swansea, we were all dreaming of a fairytale season which quicl;y turned pear shaped. I dont think today will tell us too much to be honest. (Unless of course the Takeover is announced after the game).
  • Hoping that the walk down Floyd Road shortly before 3.00pm will do what it's always done for the last 52 years.
At this moment in time I have to say I'm pleased rather than excited that the moment is eventualy here and the next chapter in being an Addick is about to be written a chapter where a lot of wrongs might just begin to be righted and a lot of dreams can once again be kindled.............................I wonder where we will all be this time next year...who knows folks..................who knows?

Hopefully walking up Floyd Road for the 53rd time !!
  • Looking forward to a few beers and catching up with a few faces. The game wont tell us much. There is still the "take over" hanging about and if (or not) it happens will have a say in who stays, who goes and who comes in pre 1st Sept.

Couldn't sleep after 7am myself, god knows why the start of another season has that effect....I am so sad I have already driven over to the Valley and parked up for after the game, and then come home, will later collect my nephew from Crystal Palace, will bus it to the Valley, chips and stuff....dug out an old shirt and peaked cap for his first game (we get a lot of sun in the East Stand), military operation really. When I drove to Charlton this morning there were gas main works on the top road from Victoria way to St Lukes church with a traffic light filter, suspect there will be some disruption through the Village later.
Please Charlton, make it a really memorable day for my nephew.
  • Damn I miss The Valley :( Looking forward to following the match on here though.
