Bottom line is simple - I want to be excited when I go down the Valley, I want to see commitment and passion from the players so even if we lose I can still feel good about the game, and I want to hear a very noisy passionate crowd.
Ohh, and I want to go up as Champions and win the FA Cup ;-)
Agree with Stone. After the last couple of seasons I must admit to feeling a lot less enthusiastic about the start of a new season. Entertain me please!
A game plan where we look like we know what we are doing and stick to it to many its been chopped and changed.
Basically some decent football not expecting miracles but us to go out and have a real go these teams and let them know The Valley is not an easy place to get 3 points like the last fews years.
I want to watch us win a few games and not be constantly drowning my sorrows. I want the Club to be financially secure, so that the scaremongering and the panic that follows such stories, is a thing of the past. I want Charlton fans to start getting on a lot better. Better footbal and results will help this but some of the bitching and moaning has been very hard to take, over the past few seasons. I want all fans to get behind Parky and the team tomorrow even if you don't like Parky! I want the Anti to be a home pub so i don't have to pretend to be an away fan every week. I want a few heroes to emerge so the fans will feel like there's more a link between them and the players (which i think has been missing). I want us to be competetive and hopefully be in the top 6 come the end of the season. I want to see Rob Elliot do a 'Deano' after every win. Basically i want good times to return to the Valley but will take us being a financially stable club, who stand a good chance of promotion. Six points off M'wall, Soton and Gills would be nice too!
Charlton Life badges would be nice but i don't want to be too unrealistic.
I Hope............... we get back to the old Values and get a team who live and breath charlton, who we can be proud of, and get a proper hero we can get really excited about .
A good solid start with 3 or 4 wins in the first month or so. Passion and leadership from the team - no more nervousness in the last 10 when we're only 1 or 2 up - captain and others visibly geeing the team up when we concede.
Parky unearthing a couple of attacking gems - too many ifs and buts about the motley crew of so called strikers at the club - I remember when we were in Div3 in the 70s - we picked up a seasoned old pro called Arthur Horsfield who scored 20 goals a season for us - if only we could sign someone like that (and a new Derek hales!)
Oh and and I hope Racon, Sam, Bailey and Shelvey are still with us on 1 September
A settled Side without too many loannees playing attractive football would be ideal.
Bottom line is the team have got to win the fans back, they have put up with Poor football since Curbs Murphy Smertin Rommedahl Bent system got found out. Time to Entertain us now, score some goals, when was the last time we handed out a general spanking to someone ?
I'd settle for us narrowly missing out on going up as long as it looks like we are moving in the right direction as a club which we have not been for some time.
Back to basics for me......see my mates for a quiet beer before the game.....a no nonsense Charlton without the big time Charlies...as long as they put the effort in, that will be enough for me.....anything else is a bonus. However, if they carry on where they left off last year (apart from the last 3-4 games) then we will see ever dwindling crowds and some really irate fans.....lets hope we get option 1.
By now Parky/Kins should have an idea of who and what their best starting XI and formation is and although there'll be a few injuries and suspensions and one or two players coming in playing a more-or-less settled team.
It'll be good to see one or two youth team players coming through, and players like Dickson/Fleetwood who are peripheral to the starting XI being given a chance and taking it, ultimately I want to see the club rediscovering its soul.
with this squad of players around the play offs if we lose a couple of the better players i hope we stay up.....
we HAVE to finish above millwall don't think they've finished above us for about 20 years and shit clubs like that should never finish above us FACT
Just would echo what has already been said. I am really looking forward to tomorrow as it sounds from people on here who have seen us pre season that we look in reasonable shape. I would like to see the valley buzzing again with everyone round me enjoying the matches and supporting the team. I would like to see the end of the freefall we have witnessed in the last couple of seasons and see some stability and consistency back in our play. At the end of the season even if we have not bounced back to the Championship I would want the rot to have stopped and to feel we have at least turned the corner again.

All of that bar the Anti to be a home pub. Come over to the dark side and drink in the Lib, mate.

*Stabilty on and off the pitch, takeover progressed or otherwise, and a group of players who want to play for the club and supporters
*Play offs/Promotion... a visit to Wembley with 20000 crowds down The Valley again
*A good crack again on away trips
Not too much to ask!
whats yours aFKA

To have players that I repsect and look like they are giving 100% commitment, and will die for the Charlton cause so to speak.
Not getting relegated.
Less focus on off-field matters.
Less booing! (follows on from the above 3);-)

I Expect ..............we won't

I hope, and pray, they don't let us down
A couple of good away wins over locals teams would be most welcome as well!
Get that and the rest takes care of itself.

* other than also winning the JPT maybe

not be push overs anymore
play for 90 mins
I expect a play off push and will be disappointed if it doesn't pan out that way, but we are seriously lacking goals
