What do we think our chances are in this tournement people. Should win it really. I can only think of a few teams we should worry about.

Comments

  • Problem is the main team to worry about is ours.
  • ha ha yea think your right there mate i was thinking Leeds could win it.

Does anyone know who won this cup last year?
  • The teams we will be playing are the kind of teams that we have always struggled against in cup competitions. The other thing about this competition is that we might also get drawn against Millwall which would be fun.

    Most Luton supporters' do.

All depends on what sort of team we put out. I'd guess we and a few others will rest players.

Some clubs will have such small squads they won't be able to.

Will be interesting to see how many sides fail to have all 7 subs on the bench this season
  • At least we have reached the second round this year......
  • Ha ha yea that would be fun to have a third fixture against Millwall so Luton the team that Fin bottom of the football league won it. Doesn't bode well could Mean that Torquay will be in for some silverwere this season.
  • would love to see us play at the new wembley.
  • No chance - it has never been won by a London side.

    Don't give me that.

We should go for it. I see no point in resting players for these cup games; the more the first team play together, the better. 7 subs means the youngsters should be able to get regular run-outs in all games.

  • Isn't there some kinda rule so you cant play your reserves/youth team? doesnt a certain nuber of players have to be first team regs that season
  • I agree with Dabos - it would be great to win something, even this!

I expect Randolph and Solly will play in these games and Dailly would be rested, so Mambo might get a chance to get first team experience as well.

Wonder if we'll field a full strength team against Hereford in the League Cup
  • I honestly - genuinely - could not give a shit about it.

Well, the rest of us won't see you at Wembley then.

    :)

    That's right - you won't.
  • who gives a fck promotion is wot we want and financially its our priority.
  • We will go out to league 2 opposition in the second round. Probably via penalties up north somewhere.
  • Surely we will gain some sort of payment if we win this cup i would just luv to see us at Wemberley. I luved it when we beat Sunderland at old Wemberley that ws such a good day out.

I think we stayed in the south. The winners of the southern and northern sections meet in the final. Ok, so we will probably go out on penalties to someone miles away in front of a crowd of 481.

  • a league 1 or league 2 team will win the johntones paint trophy.
    it wont be us.
  • Apparently you get dosh for progressing through each round (unlike the Carling Cup). Might mean that we take it fairly seriously.
