Essex role call

edited July 2009 in General Charlton
It seems that we are getting a lot more supporters from Essex on CL.

If there were enough of us, would anyone fancy some sort of get together?

I've a few Charlton supporting mates from Basildon (who don't post on here!)

Perhaps getting a player or club rep to come down for an evening (maybe someone like Matty Holland as he doesn't live to far away). Open to suggestions, would happily organise if enough people interested.

Even just knowing where we all come from would be good. Nice to know I'm not alone amongst all these Hamsters.

  • I live in stapleford abbotts, would happily attend
  • I'm in Benfleet - have been for about 8 years.
  • I'm in Chingford. would have to see venue location before i could commit due to a lack of personal transport.
  • Bloke who sits next to us comes from Chelmsford and said he planned to renew.

He might even post on here although i've never asked him or told him that I do.
  • I met A12Addick in Bray and he lives in Chelmsford. I'm sure he'd be up for a beer.

Im from Rayleigh and would be happy to have a meet up.
  • Bocking (Braintree) here and would be interested in meeting up
  • Romford

No interest in meeting up whatsoever.
  • Think its nice and easy to guess where I reside at the moment - have lived in Rayleigh & westcliff in the past as well.

Currently in Great Wakering. Have previously lived on Canvey and in Southchurch and Westcliff.

I'm not sure that I'd want to meet up though. One of the pleasures of supporting Charlton around here is a temporary feeling of excitement when I'm out and about and see someone wearing the shirt. If I'd met everyone, I wouldn't get that feeling again.

What amazes me is that there are at least two people living on Canvey who are Addicks. I was there for 23 years and I'm certain my dad and I were the only ones then.
  • keep it coming guys n girls, I'm sure there's a few more of us yet!
  • Live in Brentwood, have not seen any Charlton round my way, but there was a large Charlton supporting family when I lived in Billericay.

Would probably not be interested in meeting up though !
  • Why not join the Essex branch of the supporters club. They used to hold regular meetings with guest players etc; but haven't done so for some time due to lack of interest. I'm still a member even though I'm a fair distance away now, but still an Ilford lad at heart!
  • Rochford and yes although been to a few Essex branch dinners and always 100 + there.

    Rayleigh good for me
  • Langdon Hills, Basildon
  • Should be easy enough to arrange. One of you can pick all the others up in your white van! ;-)

My parents and I live in Wickford. They have been along to a couple of the Essex branch events in the past. I vaguely recall that I couldn't get home from work in time for any of them. They did meet Simon Royce at one of them and since then Dad has bumped into him at his Social Club where he comes along to play darts for another team. He thinks he's a lovely bloke.
  • I'm in Leigh-On-Sea - I play in the Essex Olympian League and quite often bump into Charlton Supporters on my travels around Essex.
  • Am currentley bedsitting it up in Dag'nam.

    Living the dream ;-)
