  • Not when we are still in need of a lot of players. Madness.
  • It's still summer.

I know, because it's still pissing down outside.

    :o(
  • At the moment we're in a better position than I thought we'd be in. We still have the core of the midfield I hoped we'd have. We've sold Mark Hudson. We may get a sizeable fee for Andy Gray. Although we've only made 2 signings, at least Parky is addressing the area of the team that most needed improving (though this is now arguably up front). Besides Huddersfield, I haven't heard of any other League 1 clubs strengthening significantly.
  • For the past month I have read of the goings on , or not, at the Valley and not commented.

Surely if the current Board and those possible new investors really care about our club then they must complete or cancel this takeover NOW. It just isn't fair on us supporters, nor the players nor the team management as the season fast approaches, the club isn't issuing new contracts to the likes of Fortune, nor purchasing players, all it is doing is selling players and signing free transfers - this is no way to prepare for a promotion season in the 3rd tier, all it does is hasten our demise to the 4th tier.

    SORT IT OUT YOU DIRECTORS
  • did we sign Kandol in the end?

    :DD
  • I am so disinterested by the start of this season, it's unbelievable. I've moved seats to the West with Maria but I really am not excited by the new season starting.
  • WSU ?
Sounds like some kind of wrestling match........
    ;-)

Sounds like some kind of wrestling match........
    ;-)

I know, I need a new name - suggestions please?
I can't be an ultra in the West stand, and I'm not in the East so it's not eaststandblanketandflaskbrigade :0)
  • can't wait..... a new league, a few new grounds not to go to.... definitely not as exciting as the championship but there again a promotion and we'll be back up there

exactly. i can't believe that so many aren't looking forward to the passion of lower league football. honestly the negativity on here sometimes does my head in.

Now that you've moved seats to the West with Maria, how about 'Siddarn' or maybe 'Under the thumb' .... ?

    ;o)
  • 17 days!
  • Im panicking to be honest...

the first 5 games are so important..... For me it I don't think i could take another disaster the last three yrs have been absolutely terrible as we all know and the club is in such a mess.... pretty low about the whole thing to be honest...

BUT If we can get whoever it is whos holding up the takeover assasinated or thrown in the thames or buried in a lime filled hole in dartmouth, then that could speed things up....

Then if the Italian/Dutch/Eurozone consortium memebers can release the 2.9 Billion we then simply pick up the galatico 1 team of allstars, Figo, Raul, fat ronaldo, zidane, romp league one and off we go again....

If that money was releasied I wouldnt want curbs back.... Id want Capello....

I personally think this is a brilliant plan.. what do you reckon??
  • So you've moved to the west stand with Maria? Well, as West Side Storey has been taken it'll have to be Officer Crubkey ;-) I'm looking forward to the new season, especially as my rugby league team are dropping like flies!
  • Did we ever sign Pickle from Colchester ?

LOL Cheek - I would like to point out that I had no part in the move it was totally his choice, I would never tell him what to do! ;o) Well sometimes ... :o)
  • Oops, soz ..... Maria!

Didn't mean to spill your secrets .......

They're all fat and about 40 ........ and make Pacy Basey seem like Rommedahl
  • yeah fair enough..... I still think they could do a job... but with 2.9 billion we could probably pick and chose......

A first game win would be fantastic...
  • Agreed, Mascot - a win in the first game is what we need (not that it helped last season), but it would lift everybody at the club.

2.9 billion is quite a sum of money. We could quite possibly afford a decent goalscorer, how about Micky Lambert from Bristol Rovers?

yeah but 11th in the championship under pardew wasn't good enough for some.
  • 17 now. That is 5hit scary. When does the transfer window close? We're either going to have to ship a load of players in or ship them out in a short space of time when the board finally pull their finger out.

I don`t want to see Charlton struggle in the lower teirs of football. I want us to thrive. Thats why some of us are worried about whats happening. Would your happy go lucky que sera sera attitude be the same if our demise continues I wonder.
  • and 7th in the prem wasn't good enough for some.....

Not expecting the premeirship at all. Just a welll run club and hope of better things to come. At the moment I don`t feel I have that.

But if you've got a scab, you can't keep worrying it or picking it off - you just have to let it take the time it needs.
