Most of us over the years have come across Mick or his dad....and I honestly have never heard anyone have a bad word to say about them( the exact opposite in fact)....they are real Addicks through and through the pair of them.
I wonder now, if Mick puts his Addicks hat on, that he may possibly be regretting the piece he wrote.
Hard call for him....on the one hand he's a journo with a job to do and he gets a piece of hot news fed to him...on the other he's a devout Addick.
He certainly won't be flavour of the month at The Valley right now that's for sure....I hope he get's through this without too much guilt or regrets and that somehow, someway, it all turns out for the best.
I myself come down somewhere in the middle....there were things for the article and things against.I don't think I'd have had the balls to have published it myself.....but I aint Mick and can't speak for him.
Be interesting to hear how things have gone for you Mick since the revelations came out...my guess is you're having a bit of a rough ride from some quarters and slaps on the back from others....am I right?

Dont know the guy at all but believe it is the later. Cannot see why any charlton fan would want to cause any damage or even the possibilty of damage by writing a story that lets face it probably was only of real interest to a miniscule % of its readership. Lets face it its not Man utd/ chelsea related so not exactly watergate.
Errrrm.............. it is for us Rodney!
I turned down appearing on Radio BBC London 94.9 just before Christmas on a radio show on sporting fans and what they wanted for Christmas.....
I declined because I thought it would just add to the misery and distress of everyone, and hoped that the board would be prepared to discuss and share with fans on Charlton Live,
This never happened, which was a pity for all of us and the club to diffuse the situation you could see looming.
I am not sure what I feel more unhappy about Charlton's demise to our present state.. sinking to the third division.... take over or not etc or the breach in trust that the club had with it's supporters,
Probably being stupid, but I thought we were a little bit better than that!
He said himself whilst at work he is a journalist first, once he leaves the office, he is a Charlton fan first.
if this all proves to be poppycock then I am sure his relationship with certain people within the club will become less trusting, however I find it hard to believe that Mick makes his living soley on Charlton news.
I personally reckon tonight as people sit at home, Mick feels a lot less stress and guilt than many others involved in this sorry saga.

i think mick has done what he feels right i dont know him but i feel his motives were right just the timing off.
good luck to him and i hope his love affair with the addicks continues
i also agree whole hearted with those lines you said
I don't think that it will spoil his relationship with the club, maybe some people at club will think of him differently.
lol all of us are saddo fecks
So whether you think he did us a favour by giving us some insight or he did the club a disservice is up to individual opinion.
At least it gave us a glimmer of stuff most of us didn't know about and probably prepared most of us for what may happen.
I was wondering the other day if he will want to write another book about charlton - the rise and fall of Charlton Athletic - from Porto's captain to Poor to Crap again.
Terrible pun I know but at least I tried eh ;-)
Anyways the fact that Mick held off printing anything for many months goes to show he's not printed information to give the takeover plenty of time. The lack of truth or any information from the board, is crushingly a similar pattern to that of the past few years, at best mis-information since well intended but calamitous decisions have been made. Any reason for the deal not to go through is wholly between the two parties. It is fanciful to think a viable business would be sent over the edge by the pressure in one tiny article, people will lose money through their own decisions and however well intended those who invested in Charlton are going to lose pretty much everything before a deal is struck. Much as I hate decisons that have been made those directors have my sympathy.
