On reading your last posting, and your responses to the various comments, I felt there was something strangely familiar in its style and tone. After conducting a forensic analysis and comparison, I have come to the conclusion, based on your writing style, the pathological hatred you expressed for Richard Murray and the board, your reference to him as 'Sir Richard' and 'St Richard', your use of religious references, your admission that you have been catigated for holding these views for a while now, your reference to a 'tall bulky figure' lighting a candle to a Richard Murray shrine, that you are in fact Nick Gray!

Why , just because you don't agree with him ?
He never insults other posters and makes well written posts, that are his opinion. That's what we're on here for.
I actually did give SE8 an answer the other day about this in another thread. I, like many, prefer to keep my anonymity for various reasons but no, I am not Nick Gray, so sorry Blackheath but I guess you are back where you were with him!!
But I'm grateful for your opinion of me! :-)
Nick (sorry Sailor)
I started this thread before you answered in the other thread. That thread was about the Mail on Sunday article and initially I thought my suspicion you might be Nick Gray should be a separate topic so as not to distract from the primary theme of that thread. In the end some posts in that thread did raise the question of who you were and you answered.
I have no problem with you posting on this site. Even if you are Nick Gray. And you have every right to anonymity. But, because the views of Nick Gray have been discussed regularly on this site, if you are Nick Gray, or the person who posts as Nick Gray on the OS, I think it is slightly dishonest to deny it.
I still feel that the views you have expressed over the last few days and the syntax and sarcasm you use to express those views are identical to the views, and the way they are expressed, posted by Nick Gray on the OS.
By the way, since the Mail on Sunday article was published last Sunday Nick Gray has not posted on the OS about that article or indeed any subject whatsoever! I think Nick Gray would literally explode if he were not able to publicly express his views on that article! If you are not Nick Gray what have you done with him? If I don't see any postings from him soon I might have to start a 'Free Nick Gray' campaign.
Although I don't care whether he's Nick Gray or not (I haven't experienced the Nick Gray phenomenon), this is bloody funny.
(Sorry AFKA, I agree, lets drop it)
Now, have you worked out whether "David Smith" is Derek Chappell?
Red_in_SE8 - whatever makes you happy. :-)
I can understand your suspicions actually as I tend to post pretty sporadically so perhaps you've not noticed me on here before. Indeed, I only actually signed up last year as I go through phases of enjoying/not enjoying message boards.
But prior to Charlton Life I was on NetAddicks for ages - I think it was pre 2000, I'm not sure, and I had regular banter with the likes of AFKA Bartram, Oakster, Salad (Spinner), Willie Duff (RIP) etc. etc. Some of the names have blurred now but I think SuziSausage was over there, Curb-It, Leroy Ambrose, Len Glover and many others who switched of course...
Indeed, the thread about Robert Whitehand reminds me of a laugh I had with AFKA on NA in the distant past when he actually took on the guise of Robert Very Whitehead - if he remembers. I was Richard Murraymint. (You had to be there!).
I have always been pretty forthright in my opinions and if I post anything on here it'll be as Sailor Browneye as that's what I've always used and I like that clarity.
As for Nick Gray from what I have read of his stuff I'd imagine he'd post as himself too but who knows...
I have respect for his candour and frankness and also for some of his frustrations but I think at times he does himself a disservice by placing too much importance on what emanates from here. It leaves him open to easy attack. He ought to take a step back in my opinion.
I also think he puts too much blame at the feet of the Board and certain individuals on this forum but I do understand where that comes from and I think the guy is earnest and well-meaning.
That is all I am going to say Red_in_SE8 and I hope that suffices for you but if not then that's absolutely fine.
Cheers,
Sailor
Cheers mate!!
ps do you remember that day you became Robert Very Whitehead??? Probably not...
Now that at least is more interesting!!
I had a look back at Dezza's brief appearance on here last year and it was less cut-and-dried than I thought, style-wise.
But clearly the viewpoints are very similar you'd have thought.
But my five pounds prize isn't 'totally' nailed on.... ;-)
Why?
Don't you think you are being a bit precious?
There have been no insults?
Nothing more than semi serious banter.
I'd forgotten all about him!! Christ that was nuts!
I did one of my Browneye Columns after that on there involving spoof 'alleged' mobile phone recordings between Murraymint and Curbs on the golf course!! It was when Curbs was first offered (allegedly) a job away.
You know, AFKA, we had ALL the good years to come after that. Curbs had probably been sole manager for about five or six years at most. We had no idea we'd end up kicking so much a*se in the Premier League year after year.
Makes me happy and sad thinking back. When is it going to get better in SE7......
