  • Our 2nd was one of the best goals.
  • Oh happy days....I was there that day..........seems like a fleeting and distant memory.
  • I was there too...it does feel like a lifetime away :(
  • Heart breaking.. jerome thomas if only he played like that every week.. still who needs spurs arsenal west ham man utd chelski liverpool when we've got hartlepool oldham and leyton orient to look forward too... sobs into his hands....
  • it hurts......

Let's hope so. Awesome day that was. Right now it brings up a mix of great memories and utter despair at how things have gone!!!!
  • Always remembered as the "kitchen sink" game.

Was watching SSN with Henry Jnr. Near the end when Spurs we're piling on the pressure Chris Kamara said "they are throwing the kitchen sink at Charlton" which made Henry jnr ask "why have they got a kitchen sink?"

Barlett scored two great goals. Always rated him for his work rate but he could get some great goals too.
  • So what you are saying is Bring Back Bartlett ;o) How old is he now?

  • In his prime then come on Parky ;oD
  • He'd do at centre back! Could be our version of Dion Dublin.
  • The boring mid table football nobody liked!

I saw myself applauding Bartlett's diving header.
  • Link on the right to the Charlton 3 Ryan Giggs 3 game too. Good memories.

Another 2 goals from Bartlett - had a touch of class as well as holding the ball up well - always wanted him in the side ahead of JJ, Lisbie etc. Goal of the Season winner too!
  • The Shaun Bartlett Fan Club finally emerges ...... there were so few of us at the time who appreciated the sacrifices he made to his game, in the role Curbs asked him to play as the lone striker.

So many judged him only on the number of goals he actually scored and missed, even though he was playing strictly to his manager's instructions.

And running himself selflessly into the ground in doing so.
  • another member here thought he was outstanding for us worked his socks off put him self about and got the odd goal as well
  • I always rated Bartlett i thought he was an outstanding player for us had a touch of class about him IMO
  • He's listed as my favourite player in Colin Cameron's book!
  • I see you twice on that footage Bruv
