[cite]Posted By: Swisdom[/cite]I really rated him against Welling a couple of years ago -thought he looked really tasty!
Seems he wanted to get his contract and then decided to rest on his laurels
Not sure that's being fair. He had his contract at the time of that game and I don't believe anyone's ever said that he lacks application. He's a victim of a nice-to-have problem of basically being on too much money to move and is part of a really stupid deal whereby we've got to meet big additional payments if he ends up playing a certain number of games. It's not his fault really: I'd expect him to have been in the team last year if it wasn't for this, and reckon we've missed out on an interesting prospect because the people negotiating the contracts have done a poor job.
I see what you are saying - but if he was a true pro surely he'd come to an agreement with his old club / pay the extra 50k or just look to move on. Terrible waste of talent IMO and I still rate him!
I have nothing against Christensen. It is utterly ludicrous that managers such as Pardew and Parkinson, and 1000's of other UK managers, think they can sign players push through a deal and then neglect to manage that acquisition. Whatever our opinions of Christensen, his pre-season was OK but then he was neglected for an array of even worse falling stars like Thomas.
Pardew and Parky thought it right OK to mis-manage Mouta, and thus the investment, by publuicly decrying and constantly dropping him. This may have been acceptable if he was one of the wost performers but he was one of the only ones brave enough to show for the ball. Still signing and playing players such as Halford and Cranie who made more defensive mistakes, whilst continuing with Youga who has no defensive positioning seems to be logic to the idiotic Pardew/Parkinson.
I'm sorry to hear that Mick about the club, but am not surprised. Once an organisation is crippled financially, left with little room to make decisions I'm not surprised that the negativity turns to anal and destructive energies. The inability of Richard Murray and the board to make clear and coherent decisions, with a lack of honesty started during the last days of Dowie. Now they're stuck in passive half-truths unwilling to announce the truth we all know.
Not sure, I remember looking at the annual report when it came out, our wage bill was very big - we simply had to have players on £15-20k a week to get it to that level. That obviously included the likes of Weaver and Todorov, but I'd say Gray is right up there. Pardew really wanted him, and we thought he'd help push us on and take us up.
I think Gray may well be on around £15k and players like Semedo and Moutaouakil on £8k or so a week.

To be fair Parkinson got McEveley in but he got injured. Basey struggled against pace, it really ended up picking the best of two players not quite up to Championship standard.
McEveley, there's a player who i wouldn't mind coming back.
With regard to wages, Gray has got to be right up there but after him there can't be many big earners left. We need to get our house in order and it looks like its gradually getting there.
[cite]Posted By: LenGlover[/cite]If he is out of favour with Parky then presumably Moo2 will sit around being highly paid for doing nothing like Christensen.
Len I was just going to post that too. Big difference though. We paid a fee for Moo2 and can play him if we want. If we want to play Christiansen we have to pay a fee for his first appearance, a large fee that we can't afford to pay especially if that turns out to be his only performance. With Moo2 someone needs to sit him down and have a long chat and knock some sense into him and explain that he needs to knuckle down and be a good pro and then he'll be a very good footballer. In this instance, and that of Josh Wright, I think Parky's man management skills have been sadly lacking. If Moo2 can't speak good English get someone in who speaks French to talk to him. I know someone who will do it. Unless we can offload him for a fee we are gonna make a loss and if he sits out the remainder of his contract and doesn't play it'll be a big loss PLUS we are losing the services of a very talented player.
One would assume he is on a deal at least as good as Christiansen's as he came to us as captain of the French U-21's.

How do you know Pardew, Parkinson, Kinsella and Murray haven't. I was under the impression from what 2 of the aforementioned have said, is that they have /did speak to him.
NB If Moots was shagging one of the others player's wives and was basically an all round Troublemaker, it wouldn't be as easy as your suggesting. Ever considered that Parky's man management might be good in actually sorting the bloke out ?
but he obviously hasn't sorted him out otherwise he'd be part of the squad and playing. Equally as I don't know if Tom, Dick and Harry have tried speaking to Moots you don't know that they havn't. Either way they havn't done a very good job of it. Racon was quoted before that he felt isolated when injured and out of the team. Perhaps we don't do enough to integrate foreign players, especailly young one's who arrive in a different culture with no friends and family around them.

That's the whole point Large as you say, you don't know and nor do I. Therefore how do you justify in saying that Parky's man management skills are sadly lacking. I could just as easily say his man management skills are the best ever.
Where's the evidence either way ? Unless your managed by him or told by a majority that are managed by him we can't possibly know.
Same thing was levelled at Curbs. Look what happened when he left !!!!!!
