  • Is that the best photo you could get? Poor bloke
  • The photo looks like a screen grab from Crime Watch.

    Great quote though:

"There are bound to be funds made available to Phil Parkinson spend and the number one priority should be to make those funds available quickly.

I'd never have thought that the priority would be to get funds to PP though...great insight.
  • give him a break
  • At least he's out there trying to make things happen, trying to communicate to fans via the internet and a paper that will reach a lot of people who aren't on the internet.

Whether you agree or not at least he has got off his arse and done something more than moaning on the Net.

People moan when there is no communication and then take the piss out of the people who are trying to change that. That's really going to encourage him and anyone else reading this to put similar effort in.

    Keep up the good Geoff.
  • Like everything in life, its a whole lot easier to criticise than get off your backside and contribute..........

    Ditto.
  • sound arguments in my view, lets just hope there is money available soon enough to make up for what will be a 'late start', and before too many out of contract players leave
  • just because there is a takeover on the cards doesn't necesarily mean money is available for PP to strengthern the squad - well certainly not millions anyway.

It may mean we will not have to sell Bailey or Shelvey and Pp may get a couple of million to spend, but nothing like some teams have had when takenover - these guys aren't arabs !!!!!!!
  • “If Phil can get off a flying start on the pitch then he could well still prove to be a wise appointment.

“However, if he doesn’t start well, then I don’t think the new regime will be afraid to make a quick decision and look elsewhere for a new manager.

    There you have it, Parky.

If we're not definitely promoted by the time we play Carlisle at the end of October, you're toast.

Nothing like a little pressure, eh .... ?

    ;o)

    Exactly my thoughts.

Think we are going to be in a no immediate pressure to sell & 400-500k transfer (fees) budget for the season situation.

So "not millions" but we "may get a couple of million" Glad you've cleared that up
  • a couple of million to spend plus not selling bailey or jonjo sounds great to me!

    Aw, leave Golfie alone, Henry.

That was an amazingly positive and optimistic post.

    ;o)
  • we don't know they aren't arabs. Also new owners don't tend to splash the cash as it means inflated price tags, assuming they wanted maximum return.

Yeah, sounds good to me too.

in my opinion, if he stays, and it's a big if, Parky has one game only to get it right. Lose to Wycombe and the crowd will be at him from the off. He has no leeway, no settling in period. I personally think that three games in we'll have two points and he'll be out. And not a moment too soon.
  • I think its a very small "if" at the moment.....Id hate to be in this blokes shoes right now I have to say.

As I said, nothing like a little pressure.

As Tel says, I'd hate to be in his shoes right now.

But you never know. Because he's on a hiding to nothing and the knives are already out, even before a ball is kicked, it might be the making of him.

It might even be the factor that really gets the players playing for him.

Isn`t that crazy. If the club back him then back him and give him a decent run at it. If he`s only got three games then he obviously doesn`t have the real confidence of the board so get rid now.
