Am I missing something here or is the situation exactly the same as it was yesterday, or the last year for that matter, that there is no takeover or does someone care to elaborate further. The postponement of the QA does not say a takeover is imminent, or not. I seem to be less ITK with these sort of things than I used to be.

Yes, plausible, but as with everything Charlton it'll all be done in the background and only announced when/if a deal is done.
I honestly hope it'll happen, but I'm not going to get excited/upset untill it does.

Looks like the media are starting to get their teeth into it now.BBC and Telegraph running stories about it.
So if it all goes Tit5 up prepare to look very silly again.

One could argue that cancelling the fans forum event has attracted the attention of the media.

The complete opposite, presumably, of what was intended by cancelling!

exactly. All quiet for weeks from the Board with no comment on the speculation. Now they cancel a Q & A and bang the media is all over it like a rash, exactly the opposite of what the Club have seemed to want. For weeks I've been asking why they couldn't say that 'We are in talks with an interested party in investment in the Club but cannot comment further at this stage' and havn't got an answer as to why they couldn't say that. Now an awkward Q & A session is upon them and boom let's tell the world. Will be intersting to see if anything actually happens or whether this is timely spin.

I have no inside track but I have no doubt whatsoever that the relative silence until now has been because there have been detailed and delicate negotiations on going for some time. I am equally certain that they are close to being concluded, one way or other, indeed a period of due diligence has either been completed or is about to be. Does that mean a deal will happen? Well nothing is certain but its as close as it has ever been.

Why have a fans meeting and then cancel it at the last minute? Well I refuse to believe that there was anything sinister in that. In my view it was either a case of unavoidable timing, or maybe they wanted there to be a "business as usual" message given out, whilst negotiations trundled on.

We'll hear one way or another in the coming days.
