Just thinking, regarding the shroud of secrecy around the club - does anyone actually know which players have trained so far, and any surprise absences?
If the Holland leaving rumours are true and if he is training with another club, then it's scandalous the club haven't made an announcement. To let a player who's been such a great servant just slip out the back door is a disgrace.

Holland's contract ended on 30th June like all the others. He has been offered a new deal which will obviously be on much reduced terms. Therefore as of 1st July he is officially no longer a Charlton player like ZZ and Fortune. If a player is definitlely going to accept the new offer, even though they may not be signing the contract say for a week, then you would obviously expect them to be training with us. If they are undecided then it's understandable, that Holland might want to train with Colchester, as he lives close to them.
NB IMO and I believe Parky's Holland would not feature much in the first team, as his legs wouldn't carry him for a full season. He can't play centre back because he's not tall enough, (although his reading of the game and positional play is very good). Therefore we have no doubt offered him a contract to reflect perhaps playing 10-15 games a season. If the first team are on £2k- £3k a week, I doubt they would offer him more than £2k a week and I would expect his expired contract was probably £5k a week.
You can't announce he's gone as such, unless he has signed for another club. I suppose you could announce who he is training with ie Colchester, whilst he decides, but not much else can be said.
[cite]Posted By: March51[/cite]Not that it necessarily mean much, but isn't the team photo taken on the first or second day of training for press/publicity purposes?
That may well have used to be the case....but times change....particularly at Sparrows Lane nowadays!

There's probably about 5 or 6 pics on the OS, but it's not easy to work out who's who.
Rumours will really start once players miss friendlies due to 'injury' and someone will say they are actually in talks with another club.
Who actually is injured? Pretty sure Dean Sinclair was meant to be out until around September, anyone know if Fortune is training yet?
