Apparently been seen training with colchester, their hasn't been any news on him signing a new contract at cafc anyway, in fact their has been no real news on any of the player we've offered a new contract to really.

  • Not a problem for me if he goes. Gone over what he offers plenty of times before. This season several midfielders have shown they are clearly better all round player. They all offer a lot of things Holland can't and aren't a great deal worse at offering what he does.

Which is probably reflected in the offer we have made and the reason he is trainign with Colchester.
  • thought he did well when he covered at centre half...in fact i don't think he ever really let us down at all

Would make sense considering Parkinson has never seen as anything more than a squad player. Pardew and the managers before him saw him as an important player.

Yeah he did well at centre back, and no he's not let us down. Doesn't mean he's good enough or what we need to move forward. We can probably get players of a similar level on lower wages.
  • sorry but I think he is well past it and hasn't offered much to our midfield for a long time - we should've let him go when we came down from the PL imho.
Model pro and happy to see him part of the coaching set up some day.
  • The only issue I have with letting him go is with Racon, Bailey, Shelvey and ZZ all being transfer targets for other clubs, we could very quickly find ourselves going from an abundance of midfielders to a shortage.

That should not be a problem afterall we only have one centre half, if we get down to one central midfielder and one striker we'll be made.
  • I really am starting to get pissed off with Charltons attitude to us mushrooms. If he has been released / walked or whatever I really do think that they should inform us that one of our most senior and loyal players has left the club and not let us find out by stumbling over the PFA website or hearing a rumour of where he might or might not have been training.
  • Well, Holland evidently hasn't signed for anyone at all yet, not Charlton, not Colchester, not anyone.

Otherwise it'd be on the OS.
    Right, Henry ....?

    ;o)

You can't release a player that is out of contract. Charlton have already stated that they offered him a new contract and obviously he hasn't accepted or they would have announced it. What do you want a daily bulletin to tell you that he has still not accepted and his daily movements :-)

Looking on there again Fortune and Zheng are also on there. Either it means none of them are staying, or it's just that they are available.

Hopefully Fortune will sign soon, Zheng would be a bonus as I don't think anyone expects him to stay.
  • He's a pundit on ESPN tonight for scouse game.
  • With a mullet and bad sideburns. . . . . :o(

not quite sure what he was doing in the studio but he seemed to do OK
  • Poor Matt having Keegan there too, can't abide that dick, ever since he told my dad to sit down as he was shouting home a winner at Devon and Exeter in the early 80's. He was with Channon and they were both full of lunch (having supposedly arrived by helicopter (OOOOH! in those days) although we had seen the two of them pissing it up from about 12 in the owners and trainers bar.
Was very proud of my father that day as he not only shouted louder but asked Channon for his autograph next to the race on the Sporting Life page and ignored Keegan. Ho ho ho - The next year Keegan buggered us all up missing the header in Spain.
  • My bro is sat next him at St Marys tonight
