Danny Mills and Sodje to come in on frees?

edited July 2009 in General Charlton
Why Not? Both played here before, both been released, one is getting on and one needs a fresh start and both know the club! Plus we need a right back and center back. More of a chance to get Sodje thou as Mills will probably go a championship club but both worth a shout?

  • Sodje yes (joined your group by the way)
    Mills No prefer Mouts
  • Sodje yes, though as I've said a few times before, only going to be back up if we get back to the Championship.

Mills I don't think would be worth the biggish wages he'd want. Doubt he'll be playing in League One, Championship I'd imagine. Would be happy if we get him though.
  • Danny Mills told me he deliberatly got himself sent off in that game against Hull (i think) so Danny mills can feck right off the tosser

    Sodje yes all day long

People said that at the time. Was around Christmas, that way he got time off.
  • Loved Mills first time round. Had no problem with him when he left.

Has become an utter twat over the years. The Hull game was a joke, he'd been at it for a few weeks and was lucky to stay on against Norwich. Didn't he get Doin Dublin sent off in that one?

Sodje - ok for league one. Strictly a reserve at Championship level.

i met him in a box at the O2 watching the wrestling with NLJR never meet your heros they say was 100 percent right that night cant believe i had mills on my shirt first time round twat
  • Sodje--yes yes yes
Mills--no,not after what that twat did.
  • What everyone else says:

Sodje - come on in son
    Mills - do one
  • There's not a cannon powerful enough to shoot Danny Mills as far away From Charlton as possible. I think the Iraqis tried to build one once.

Sodje is alright, he'll do a job for us.
  • I would have both

  • NLA what was so wrong with Mills? Was he trying to goad you? Were you winding him up? Watching him play you gotta guess past the journ's crap of hell on pitch heaven off it but still he comes across pretty good on the radio.
  • Mills would want in excess of £20k a week - will be lucky to offer him £5k.

He'll never again pull on a charlton top.
  • All to do with that Hull City match debacle, I guess.

As unprofessional a performance as I've seen from any player in 45 years.

We won't be offering anybody anything like 5K per week in Division One, especially newcomers. We will be hard pushed to pay the current wage bill never mind lumping more on top of it.

i liked him i really did up until that night

didnt goad him didnt kiss his arse either got talking about all things charlton and asked him why he did what he did against Hull turned out he wanted xmas off and decided to get sent off, even though he knew we were defensivly short couldnt believe what i was hearing, here was someone doing what we would all love to do and he was treating us with absolute distain

Thatch wanted £5k last season, hence we did not renew his contract, so can't see us offering anyone.
  • ?? Hudson was pony any way last season so good money then and i did say in an earlier statement he was off oh well id like to get Ward in again solid cb and perhaps Michael Dubberey may be def sodje would be superb in league one

could we get lambert from Bristol Rovers

still forgetting one thing need a new manager get rid of parky then you will see season ticket sales rise

lets hope we can get some bargins which will give us that promotion
  • I hope Murty signs
  • [cite]Posted By: Lee Heywood[/cite]could we get lambert from Bristol Rovers

Lambert would be a cracking signing... but I don't think we have £2m laying around to sign him.

I take that back, they only want £1m for him

Still could be too much for us though

  • Why not! Because of the wages do you think they will accept no more than £2000 a week, I can not see how the club could afford any more as it needs to achieve a break ven posistion in terms of income and expenditure as quickly as possible. The club probably has as many top paid players for this division than it truely can afford already.
  • Thought I read that Huddersfield are in for Lambert.

    Could be wrong though.
  • [cite]Posted By: LenGlover[/cite]Thought I read that Huddersfield are in for Lambert.

    Could be wrong though.

Huddersfield have pulled out as not willing to pay £1M for him on a 3 yr deal, as he may not retain his value at age 30. Also, his wage demads are too high.
They may come back in if Rovers drop the price.
  • Dream on if you think Lambert is coming anywhere near SE7.

The days of us paying 1m for a player are long gone.

To be honest I get the impression that the days of paying 100k for a player might be gone as well.
  • hope thats Mick Mills or Hayley...

No chance of that happening I'd say. Might pay a few hundred £k on players, but that'll probably be it. Unless we are taken over...
  • NO BULL ---- got this direct from a bristol rovers player who was on my coaching course a few weeks back back In Jan when the transfer window was shutting Parky tried to get Lambert on Loan until the end of the season with a move at the end of it for £750k Bristol Rovers couldnt get a replacement in on time so the move was scrapped
  • £750k? Just can't see us paying that for one player. As I said only way we would is if we are taken over, or perhaps if Shelvey and Bailey leave and we get £5m or £6m for both of them.
  • Sodje - yes.

Mills - no, too injury prone.
