with Nicky in fine form for the addicks last season it gives me no real supprise to find out Mr Southgate is about to make Mr Bailey one of his firsy signings £2m a good source no NOT HP has told me the deal is more or less done and dusted just waiting for the take over to be completed which is a massive shame

I think Alfie....Nicky's wife and her mum Wendy would have blue fit at the thought of her and all the kids moving so far away, and Middlesboro (what an absolute shyte hole)....can't see it myself.............but who knows!

like everything as i stated i said it could be chinese wispers agents being agents and the way that market is things get said all the time I was talking to him about other non charlton players who he was placing with sides in the premiership and he said that Middlesboro had made an offer and Gareth Southgate wants him etc but the hold up is this take over he could be talking **** but then again he might not be

Had a conversation with Baily yesterdaay at a football tournament, he said that he went in the other day to have a run with the other players. He doesnt want ot go, nothing has been said to him about a club making any form of bid, as well as he doesnt know who will be the manager there next season.....

Won't hold my breath but it's a good price if true. Hopefully any deal done for him won't all tied up in add ons and clauses. I think £2m would be a lot to turn down for Bailey even if we had stayed up.

Once again it seems apparent there is a Takeover going on though......so thats 1 positive

As for Nicky - I really like him and think he is an asset to us but in our current situation £2m is too much to turn down.
I genuinely hope he does well for himself as he seems to be a totally comitted player and i'd say Boro' is about the right level for him at the moment as I doubt he's ready for the Premiership just yet.

Still - this time next season when we are on the up and Boro fall into League1 we can take him back off them for £500k (there go my rose tinted specs once more)

£2m pretty good for a player of Bailey's quality. No doubt his goals have made him look better than he is.

Yes he's good, but he's not Prem quality or a £2m yet. Boro fans are in for a shock if they think he'll be as good as some of the midfielders they've got. If it's true of course.

We all know that Nicky Bailey has been looked at and it may well be that Boro, amongst a few others, are in the frame to come in for him.........but there's a big difference between them being interested and him actually going there.
He has a really lovely family who are the centre of his life....He and his wife may well consider leaving the area....but I guarantee you it wont be easy for them because they are very close to her parents and brothers and sisters....they really do operate very much as a team, it's great to see as a matter of fact.
All I can say is is that I think Nicky is waiting to see if our take over comes about and (if it does), just how powerful and influential the new owners might be. If it looks like it's going to be exciting times ahead I can see him staying....though of course the problem is he can't wait around for ever to find out, if it all goes tyts up then he may blow his chances of going elsewhere, it's not an easy situation for all concerned.
No one has told me this by the way....... but I just get a strong feeling it may be the case and let's face it, it's perfectly logical from his point of view.

easy For all Nicky Bailey brings to our team i would rather if we had to lose one midfielder it would be Bailey, I would rather have Bailey,Shelvey, Racon, Zheng however IMO it would be harder to replace the other 3
