  • Warnock says:

"I am delighted really, he is a young lad with so much to prove.

"He just needs to enjoy himself a bit and play with a smile on his face."
  • Lets hope he plays with the same swagger and effort that he always showed at The Valley. Ta da Darren.
  • Is Neil Warnock starting the process of acquiring and developing a relegation-chasing team?
  • At last, some good news.
  • I said this would happen ages ago. Whoever signed Ambrose was going to say he's a great signing, before realising he's not quite as good as hoped. Still, Warnock might be the manager that can get more out of him.
  • I think he'll do well at Palace, he'll have a lot of hard working players around him. Be a bit like Keith Gillespie have an upsurge under Warnock and then fade after a couple of seasons due to the wrong temprement.

talking of Gillespie, released by Bradford at the end of the season. Another blinding loanee !!
  • The start of the "lets get Palace relegated campaign" First signing Agent Ambrose.........I take it Agent Butterfield has gone back....agent Hudson anybody?

Good riddance Dazza you were the most inconsistent so called talent that I can remember and you and the Nigels thoroughly deserve each other....you flatter to deceive old boy.....
  • 'young' is stretching it a tad, isn't it?

cheers Daz............but did you really have to go there?

    :-(
  • One stat that puts his efforts into perspective. Last season, we won one game where he started. Against Ipswich. Who later sent him back. So the only team he helped us beat, didn't rate him!

If he helps get them relegated, then Agent Ambrose would have done his job.
And achieved more than he ever did at Charlton.

    ;o)

That was a peach of a cross from Ambrose, that Voltz turned into his own net for our winner, after Bouazza mistimed.
  • Didn't mind Ambrose, obviously didn't do alot when he was here, very inconsistant and non exsistant at times. But he did seem to at least create a chance or two a game. Can't wish him well at Palace though, unless he brings them down ;-)

The reds won that game with an oggie from Voltz - is that where you got your nickname?

Hey if Lisbie can be a bright young prospect after ten years Daz can be a young lad at 23 (?)

Ha ha .....never thought of that, Chizz.

    Simples.

    :o)
  • best Cornish pasty I've had is at a place in Padstow (no, not Rick Stein), absolutely awesome.
  • If he's only 23 do we get a fee?

There is also a little shop in Polperro that sells awesome pasty's, worth the drive down just for one of those.
  • [cite]Posted By: mistrollingin[/cite]At last, some good news.

Oh Yes!!!! this is the best news we have had come out of the Valley in a long time, and he has joined Palace!!!! Lol, you could not make it up. See ya Sharon
  • I didnt like him but i have read eleswhere that he waived his apperance fee whilst he was with us last year, even though he wears eye liner and puts on more slap than my missus and the fact he plays like a girl

you must say that is a touch of class, now end of the niceties

pish right off you nancy boy
  • Ambrose slipped down the pecking order. The only place he could play is behind the striker and Jonjo has pretty much cemented that place himself. Ambrose has no pace to play out wide and is not the best at beating a man when dribbling at them unlike Sam who I'd hope we can keep hold of and he can go on and cement a place in the side. I'm glad Darren's going as it will save a fortune off the wage bill and he's never really offered anything since he's been here. It's a shame because a few years ago he showed great potential. The reason possibly behind that is that he lacks self drive and ambition to push on and put in the effort for some performances that should be merited by a footballer of his potential talent.

I live in between Plymerff and Polperro, do you want me to send some oggies up.... ?

    ;o)
  • And our stripey friends were pointlessly deducted a point for fielding an ineligible player against Sheffield United on 3rd May.

Shame it couldn't have been 10!!!

  • Good signing for Palace in the grand scheme of things considering they're skint and Jordan's not prepared to put the money in. Warnock's probably the right manager for Ambrose to get back on track.

Be interesting to see what type of reaction he gets when (if) he ever plays against us again.

If being the operative word ....... Palace getting relegated as we get promoted.
    We can hope ....(!)

    ;o)
  • I am puzzled by this one. Ambrose like the ball to feet and gets lost in the hurly burly of a long-ball game (God knows we have proved that).

Palace are not an out and out long-ball mob, they have some talented players like Nicky Carle, but you can't see where Ambrose is going to fit into their system.

As others have said, you have to build the team around him and unless he delivers for the majority of games (say 75%) then he becomes a luxury.

Glad to get him off the bill, he's on the way down.
  • Personally, I don't understand all of the venom directed towards Darren as a person. Maybe he wasn't a saviour on the pitch... maybe he has unfulfilled talent, maybe he doesn't. But why all the personal jibes? Seemed to be a good "kid" to me.
