Back where we started : Third Division (S) 1921-2009

edited May 2009 in General Charlton
The league we will play in next season looks uncannily like our first ever league season in the old Third Division South 88 years ago.

Teams we played in that league in 1921-22 and will play next season:

Southampton
Swindon
Brentford
Millwall
Bristol Rovers
Norwich
Brighton
Exeter
Southend
Gillingham

And for those who denied there was any such thing as a club finding its 'natural' level when we had a thread on the subject 4-5 months ago , from that league in 1921-22 there is just one club currently in the premiership (Portsmouth) and only five in the Championship (Plymouth, QPR, Watford, Reading, Swansea).

La plus ca change ...

For the record, we finished seventh from bottom with average home gates of 8,011 . . . oh, and and our leading goalscorer was called Bailey!!!
