Away following next season

Thinking about the away games next season I can see us taking quite a few to most games?

Here are my views.......You can shoot me down in flames if you disagree?

Southend Away end holds just over 2200 I think if on any Saturday we should fill it?

Brighton Away end holds about 1000 Easy no problem even mid-week?

Yeovil and Exter new grounds terracing to boot should take 1000+ easy?

Leyton Orient,Brentford Full allication?

Wycombe and Colchester new grounds to most should sell out? (How many does Colchesters away end hold?)

Swindon,Walsall and Bristol Rovers depending on how we are doing should be near enough sell outs (Not massive away ends!)

Stockport,Oldham,Tranmere,Huddisfield,Carlisle and Hartlepool We should be able to take a few with new grounds and all but these are the ones where I think we will struggle depending on when we play them and where we are in the league?

Then you have the play off teams

MK Dons should be a sell out not to far and new ground
Scunthope (No comment!)
Leeds Most have done Ellend road before
MILLWALL I would like to think we would sell out but I wouldnt hold my breath!
Gillingham Sell Out no problem!
Shrewsbury I think this would be a good following as a brand new ground!

What do you think?

  • Our away support is shocking and I blame Curbs for that : - )

i think more teams will bring more to us than we do to them , just like everyone did this season ....but for differing reasons next year ;-)
  • cant wait for the first terraced away game.. havnt stood at a game since stockport away when we won the league.
  • MK Dons won't sell out, I hope.
  • We should sell out Brighton, Orient, Brentford, Southend, Colchester, Wycombe and Gillingham if they come up. Can't see us selling out any more unless we're doing really well and there's something riding on the game come the end of the season.
In past seasons we've struggled to sell out 3k for Palace so why people think we'll sell out at Millwall i don't know. Also remember reading that Leicester took over 4k to MK Dons last month, so can't see us selling out there either.
  • millwall will sell out cos it'll be a new ground for a few of our younger fans (if they don't go up) and then one visit will be enough to put them off going there again

I'll be going. I support my club, I don't "not support" other clubs.
  • Morally I just can't go there, but then you think there a shinning example of how football less cities should develop a club
  • Not develop - just take advantage of the situation. ;-)
  • Well, if you think stealing a club from it's community is the way forward, you're in the same camp as Ron Noades and the Charlton board of circa 1985

  • My argument has always been that you can't hold the actions of the decision makers at the time (those responsible for the move), against the current set of supporters who have decided to go to league football when it was presented to them.

Believe me, moving them was totally wrong and i feel for AFC/Wimbledon incredibly.

However, it will not get in the way of me supporting Charlton.

    Anyway, off topic.
  • Rothko - if we had MK Dons away last game of the season and needed a win to gain promotion, would you go and support Charlton or sit at home watching Sky sports news?
  • Sky Sports News it would have to be

You have more Passion for the Dons than Charlton of late Geezer :-)
  • Am looking forward to a trip to MK Dons assuming they don't win the play-offs and get promoted.

Millwall only give sides the upper tier of the away end which can't hold any more than 2,000 tops so I reckon even Ooh Aah could see us selling out for that one.

  • With Rothko 100%.
If "the dons" can do it, who's next ?
We (rightly) complained when we moved 10miles to Selhurst.
  • I'm with Rothko, I'll never set foot in that stadium, I hate anything it stands for. If you want to go I won't hold it against you, just respect my decision and don't claim some moral high ground.
