"More Than A Feeling" is a popular song by American beat-combo Boston, who are touring again ...
... so just take her to see them in Cardiff and say you misheard :-)
  • They've got Whales in the sealife centre at Brighton now , maybe you could combine the 2 ?
  • if i suggested that she would smell a rat and think i put cafc before her............saying that she already fed up with me being an idiot around the house and asking when the season re starting no probs i was drunk as sack and zzzzz by 5 lol thank for Hurlimanns yes the old hurlimanns that was a wonderful drop before it changed
  • no she wants to see those big bugger ones dont think they would be in brighton
  • Can you not just tell her not to worry, that you'll take care of it as it's her birthday then wait til the fixtures are out to book it?

or take her to boston lincolnshire and buy her dvd on whales to watch in the hotel
  • Tell her that holiday prices will be cheaper in the summer...that the Dollar/Sterling Ex rate is poor and will be better in a month...
  • chris from the women who says................* its only two games you have another 30 something to see * * how can it take 6 hours to go to football * or * your sh*te so why go * but think i will wait and then maybe move the holiday around............the other ideas from chaps still on back burner but can see a few faults in the logic......
  • You are waiting on the fixtures because you're worried you might miss Carlisle away in League One because you're whale watching in Boston harbour, with your beloved, for her 50th?

How did you get gent in your name?

  • plenty of Whales in bexleyheath on a saturday night will be alot cheaper for you mate..
  • Went on a cruise to Qubec, Boston & NY (the lady wife doesn't fly) and the highlight was whale waching off Bar Harbour in Maine, it was about 45 dollars each, but 50% back if you didn't spot any. We saw a humpback whale and its calf and because of junior they came to the surface more regularly, we followed them for about an hour, it was fantastic and worth more than the rest of the holiday put together. Strongly recommend it, you won't regret it.
  • hhhmmm whale watching in Boston or going to a league one match.

Neither does mine, it makes her arms ache.
  • HPA Curb-it she working you by remote !!
  • Where's Stu when you need him, he's our resident whale expert

And all of those are probably valid points on her part!!
But what i was saying was, why not tell her you've booked something as a surprise so she stops going on about it, then book it when the fixtures are out. That way she's none the wiser. I wouldn't worry about Carlisle away though, sods law it'll be a tuesday night in January.
  • chris like it quality............................play the secret booked card..............carlisle a must as my lad lives up there and season ticket holder.last few years since the flood the bars up there took off and great place for night out..........but yes tell her its booked
  • We missed the start of this season as we did our big retirement 'thing' by taking a motorhome round the USA deserts and canyons for two months last September and October. We'd been worried about our decision but it ended up as misses nil, gains infinite. Staying in a remote desert surrounded by those huge human like cacti, howling coyotes and stunning sunsets, or watching Charlton play badly? No brainer for us.
  • She sounds like trouble to me.

    Get rid

Don't worry about missing the Carlizzle match, DGent.

We only play them away in the last match or 2 of the season, whenever we need to clinch promotion.
So we'll be playing at Brunton Park around 3rd May.

    Put that in your diary.

    ;o)
  • You should have taken her to Swansea a couple of months ago.

She could have seen plenty of Wales.

    COAT ....!!!
  • Just looked at website, best time to see Whales in Boston between April - October, so maybe you should go mid-season ie July to be guaranteed a sighting. I wish i had checked fixtures, going to be away for first game so hoping it is away
  • You only need to delay for a few weeks until the fixtures come out.

What about something along the lines of you are waiting for the American authorities to clarify the Visa requirements due to the Swine Flu. You could even say Boston is next to Mexico as women are absolutely hopeless on geography. And you could say that the Whales may be quarantined/kept far from the shoreline due to the same problem.

Load of ole tosh but you are only trying to make sure its safe for you both to travel and get the best out of the trip.
  • you could take her to sheppey and hope one of those stray ones comes up the estuary, win win all round

    'TAXI' on its way too.
