Poor Service.... at the Valley

edited May 2009 in General Charlton
Right I only fly over for 5 - 7 home games a season, but I cannot believe how rubbish the service is.
2 mins before half time I dart downstairs to get a couple pints and only get served a couple minutes before the second half.

It just seems either that the service its badly organised, lack of taps, or just plain bad service.

I vote for the latter tbh

Take it up with the Fan Forum mate, they're bored now the pot-holes in the Car Park have been filled...:o)
  • yeah its pretty poor and been covered loads of times they cant add up either the times we have been roipped off is unreal
  • Get over it mate - it's a football ground, not The Ivy.

Expect cold pies and warm lager(or Fosters) - it's the norm.

I've found that the sausage rolls are value.
  • See thats what I don't understand, its a source of income for the club thus the faster you serve the more cash you make
  • At least you got a beer! They ran out of bitter in the Upper North before kick off, had to drink lager ffs! Then i heard they even ran out of that come half time. Shocking!
  • I was in an exec box Sunday, and my champagne was not chilled correctly, Parky & Murray out, and I tripped over a pothole in the main car park when I stumbled drunkenly out.

Yeah same as that,no bitter in the east stand so had to endure fosters, mind you the john smiths isn't much better.
  • Poorly trained agency staff....simple as that!

I think the problem was due to people like this taking more than their share...... The ugly one at the front is even laughing at you!

  • Ran out of anything at HT.

You'd think at HT they have poured out a huge number of pints ready so they can just grab them.

Hate to say it guys, but that suggested to me that the Club perhaps hadn't paid the last bill from the brewery...

I would say: Last game of season, no point starting a new barrels and it going to waste. However they could have got some bottles as back up.
  • Those plastic Carling bottles they have at most places would save a lot of time/be nicer lager. 500ml bottles.
  • I blame Steve Waggott :0)

What? For drinking all the beer? Well I suppose he can afford to have a nice big drink...........

    .......

Perhaps last game of the season and they didn't want to order more beer that might not get sold?

Surely there's enough functions and do's on at the Valley over the summer though?
  • yes but they dont serve that shit to paying guests who have hired out the valley.

But to run out an hour before the match? A bit shoddy, and undoubtedly a sign of things to come, i fear...

Great idea Adam - lets turn Bartrams into a Hooters!!

i'd be there on non match days as well then!!
  • Did anyone else notice those beer stands outside Pride Park? Brilliant idea. Also, Derby opened the doors so people could have a cigarette at half time. Simples.

Get rid of the pints, get bottles in, much faster.

Also, get rid of that sign that says "Are you a Wimpy Addick" from the concourse. Taking the piss they are.
  • Also they run out of Saussage Rolls when I want one, so I gotta get a Hot Dog

Then they run out of Hot Dogs and Saussage rolls when I want a Hot Dog.

    Cook more ffs.

    LOL
  • Good point about badly trained staff... once got a the front of the queue and tried to order but the person had a limited knowledge of the English language. When he finnaly got it I saw the women (sort of butch Marco Pierre White) serving the beers picking up a cup turned her hand upside down brought her gloveless hand and ran it across her nose to wipe the runny mucus petruding from her nostrils. arg Obviously rejected the pint and asked for another pint served by another person.
  • Training yes and lack of English are a major floor in the recruitment also maths basic adding and taking away.

Not much to ask is it really Ok you pay peanuts you get monkeys etc but come on people need to be able to understand English surely thats is a basic requirement

Fair enough running out of food and certain drinks is not that bad really as of course its end of the season and having leftovers is not good

    Ouch.
  • well compared to other season tickets we pay peanuts no wonder we get Monkeys on the pitch.
