I look forward to your careful and well thought out reply then! Are you looking forward to facing another red and blue side in Dagenham and Redbridge next season?
Personally I would be, short hop on the train from work, lovely.
my initial thought is i thought you did not care about us. Now jog on ya stripey mug havent you got a plane to book. Oh no you mugs could not even get that right.0enjoy your time in the limelight. Must be nice for you to have a season out of our immense shadow.
I do care about you though. I'm one of the fans who actually appreciates there was a rivalry pre 2005. Still, it doesn't come close to the Brighton rivalry but it's pointless explaining that to you other than the fact I live there.
We will enjoy our time in the limelight, as did you when Curbs got you promoted and became number 1 in S.London.
Dress it up as much as you like, not much of a limelight thou is it though ?
Every cloud and all that compared to us and Brighton next season, but at the end of the day you are still a struggling, selling club who will be lower Championship with a chairman who wants out, a club losing money hand over fist, a rented ground, and no long0term strategy on the horizon.

The only difference between us now is we don't own our own ground, oh and you're in League 1.
Nope, not much of a limelight but give it a chance. I wouldn't say your situation is something Palace fans would envy. Selling off the training ground, no matter how Murray dresses it up is a sign of things to come at Charlton. Bare in mind you're parachute payments are now over and your own real asset in the squad is Shelvey, your finances are as bad.
The best thing about Palace at the moment is that we're constantly producing young ENGLISH talent and if it means we have to sell 1 a season to stay afloat then so be it as we'll only produce more.

Sorry, I'm obviously a bit too hyper. I managed to sneak some fizzy pop out of the fridge without my parents seeing. Now I'm bouncing off the walls and feel like I've grown a pair, hence my involvement on here...
Nobody actually answered to my original post though? Maybe we'll play Newcastle or Boro away on the same night?

If you're really lucky you will
I can't say I'm happier in the position we are league wise compared to you
I would though, rather be us than you anyday of any week you would care to mention.

Churlish - And you'll take 300 fans to Boro just like you did last time you played them in the PL. It's our turn now to say "what goes around comes around." Your Chairman is desperate to bail out and reduces the sum he'll take for it every week by the amount you lose - and still no-one's interested. Your historic good support has evaporated and your hardcore 14,000 is under threat. You have become a selling club of any asset that will realise you more than £500,000 and your manager is de-mob happy having signed on for another year before retirement. My bet is we don't have to wait nearly as long as you did to have the last laugh again. 2009-20? Bring it on.
I was properly brought up, or so my dad kept telling me, and taught not to provoke or have knee jerk reactions. But self defence classes for women taught me how to knee a jerk. Don't worry AFKA, I'm up for it. You can catch him on his way down, size really isn't important, or so my dad kept telling my mum.

Having been around Charlton and Palarse for over 50 years now I can of course well remember the days when you had holes in your kit (I kid you not!) and your terraces were grass and mud banking.
If you look at the history of our two clubs since we have both been members of the football league there are very very few years during all that time that you've finished above us......whether that be in a league we were both in at the same time or otherwise.
Our history(wheras it might not be as rich as some), is certainly way out there in comparison to yourselves....you always were and always will be to me an irritating little club from down the road. Sorry but that's just the way it goes and that's how you're generally viewed by most of the football fraternity out there in the rest of the country....the only thing keeping you in any sort of public view over the past few years are the ongoing childishly inane comments of your imbecile chairman, he is more high profile than your club as a matter of fact.
At The Valley a few years back he got some comments from our Chairman that he so richly deserved following comments he had made in the press some weeks earlier regarding saying 'most football chairmen are tossers' (note he didn't include his arrogant self in that comment)....it was worthy of a reply and Richard Murray was presented with the perfect opportunity, which he understandably took, on behalf of not only himself but other chairmen. Since then, after the events became public,a number have congratulated him on his remarks. Hence the words he used which included the now famous 'tosser' comment....that's why the word was specificly used!
Further more on the day he and his entourage turned up late for the pre match luncheon without even having the common decency to call the club to say he and his party wouldn't be attending....a common decency which ANY reasonable person invited to dinner in any walk of life would and indeed should extend.Having not turned up for the meal he then proceeded to go straight to his seat in the directors box without so much as a hand shake or recognition of Charlton officials(was the man on drugs or what?).... it goes without saying that the Charlton directors were naturaly less than enamoured...hardly surprising that by now the scene was set for some kind of an altercation wouldn't you say?

I havn't been going along as you, but did start going in 1968.
In that time, we have been in the same league for 17yrs, Charlton a higher one for 12 years, and Palace a higher one for 12years. You say you have been going to Charlton for over 50yrs, and I congratulate you, but ask what history you have witnessed is that far out of comparison to Palaces?
The only thing I can think of is your FA cup win, which was over 60 years ago, so that doesn't exactly put your history way out in front of Palace's.
So as from next year, over the last 45 years, Palace will have been in a higher league than Charlton, so historically Palace must be South London's numer One.

Fair enough AFKA, everyone needs to take out some frustration after being relegated, I'd know!
There, that's much better.

AFKA really IS Willie Carson ........ ?
Wow ! I never knew that! *gobsmacked*

Carlise away will be the last away game, and it will be Charltons promotion game, as in 1981 and 1986. FACT. Read the history.
Unless they go down of course.....
;-)
