the turnout scares me and i'm beginning to think if we don't have a very good start next year sub 10k crowds might be a regular occurence down at the valley....
we've fallen so far so fooking quickly it hurts
[cite]Posted By: Airman Brown[/cite]The turnstile count, which doesn't include hospitality, was 10,750. There were 1,250 Cardiff (although I'd have said it looked more).
That is far and away the lowest turnstile count of the season.
Is that the total crowd? or 10,750 + the away end?.
Incidently, agree there looked more than 1,250 in the away end.
If that is the official total fair play to you for giving it out.....I dread to think what we will be getting by November next year if we don't start well.
I think everyone appreciates the honesty Airman. We need to rebuild this club, in every sense, and tonight (even though it wasn't even a defeat), has to be the low.

I bloody well hope so - if I get any lower I'll be limbo-ing into work tomorrow!
I was expecting a piss poor turnout but naively thought that a few more would of turned up as a show of solidarity than did. Have to say that walking into the ground just before kick off and seeing the banks of empty seats was utterly depressing.
All I can say to those who stayed away is this:
If you've had it with this season and can't take anymore then fair enough, I can't argue with that. But you MUST (personal circumstances permitting) renew next season. The club needs you more than ever and next season is the time to show that this club and supporters can deal with adversity. If you still feel the same way at the end of next season then fair enough dont renew*
*I reserve the right to repeat this message if we are still in the shite at the end of next season.
Sad day.....get used to small crowds guys.......we are heading for Division 3 afterall. Unless we hit the ground running (and that looks unlikely) 8-10,000 will be the norm and sub 5,000's for pointless cup games (Johnstones Paint) We've seen it all before havent we.....

We were on the same campsite as Pardew and family last June. He was extremely confident that we would be hitting the ground running this season. Somewhat gone off this phrase now.
Sad but predictable. Not reading anything into it as i didn't even make it! Think people just need a bit of time out until next season. Still think we'll be averaging 15k next season if we're there or thereabouts. Fair play to Airman for divulging this.
[quote][cite]Posted By: oohaahmortimer[/cite]how low will our johnny painting competition crowd be ..... i reckon below 3k will be a possibility if we don't 'hit the ground running'[/quote]
I'd be surprised if we broke 3k for a Johnstones Paint match to be honest. Forest got the lowest crowd in their history (2013) when they played Brentford in 2006. Attendences across the board are woeful in that tournament and rarely break 3k at any ground until you get to Area Final stage (one match from Wembley). I don't know why they bother with it - must cost more to stage most games in terms of policing/stewarding, paying player's appearance bonuses, paying bar staff etc than they make on the gate for most games.
Did anyone notice in Waggott's programme notes last night he said that our crowds have remained amongst the highest in The Chamionship despite what's happened on the pitch - someone should tell him that the figures announced are based on ticket's distributed rather than who actually turns up!

That's pretty much me. I didn't go saturday, didn't go last night and prob won't bother with the Norwich game unles I have a barney with the missus and need to get out of the house.
I will, however, be renewing in the next week or two. Bring on August and all that first day of the season sunshine, optimism, lush green pitches and the buzz of seeing our new signings for the first time.

yeah looked a lot more than that considering blackpool had 950 i thought cardiff turnout was nearer 1800
Does the turnstile count include freebies, i.e. tickets given away to schools, comps, etc?

We are struggling with midweek turnouts generally, however, and taking into account all the circumstances I wouldn't read too much into tonight.

Welsh plod said they had sold 1200 that morning but they had sold another 300 by midday and another 100 were coming down without tickets!
So I make that 1600 give or take a few!!
