Had a fun (if rather geeky) evening last night, took the scenic route home today, had a picnic in the park at lunch time, then laughed my arse off at Man U and Newcastle both losing. Yes, it's disappointing that we've got relegated, and the future of the club is looking a lot less rosy than we would like, but it's not the end of the world, nobody's died, and we still have a club to support next season. To be honest I'd rather be in our position than Southampton's right now.
Sorry to hear your bad news Oggy - break-ups are never fun, even if it's your decision.
I've hardly felt it to be honest, I accepted the fact we were going down a long, long time ago. In a strange sort of a way (although its gutting and its been horrible watching us and its difficult to find cause for optimism like there was following our two relegations from the prem) its made it a bit easier the fact we have just gone down so pitifully and pathetically as we haven't really ever had any cause for our hopes to be raised and have not had to suffer one of those horrible sheffield wednesday cup-final type games where you go with real hope and belief that you can do it and then you almost go into shock when it actually dawns on you at the whistle that you are down. Having said that that sort of relegation would undoubtedly have been preferable...
I think the best response is to look forward to next season, new grounds, different/fun away trips, reacquainting ourselves with millwall, first game of the season in the scorching sunshine etc etc
i was fed up yesterday, but a marvellous day on the slopes at Lake Louise today helped improved my mood.....good spring skiing & only a handful of people there as well - Calgarians forget skiing exists after Easter & the local resorts are empty
An english flag in La Paz, Bolivia now bears "Charlton Athletic, League One Champions 2010"
Shit happens, and I haven't enjoyed this season but we're realising who our true supporters are and i love our club more than ever. Back in the premiership within 5 years and perhaps we'll keep our ambitions in check.
