Mark Hudson is no Simon Webster thats for sure, but some of our real problems have been because of the absence of the chronically underrated Jon Fortune......oh, and Pardews almost criminal decisions to start the season without adequate central defensive players. Linvoy Primus was our desperate stopgap, then we had another bloke (there have been so many loans I can't remember his name).I certainly don't think Hudson is our worst ever, he is averageish I reckon.
If Parkinson's future is really based on results since he took over then he is a dead man walking.
Personally I've seen enough improvement in performances to beleive he deserves a shot with his own squad and a proper pre-season.
As I said on another thread, the key to our revival (as well as keeping the nuleus of better players if possible) is bringing in a decent predatory goalscorer.
Parky is fully aware of this and has said as much.
I also don't see anybody else out there that would come to us. Do any of you "sack him" guys have anybody in mind?
Either way it's a tough judgement call for the board.
I would hate to think that people are expecting the board to just pluck a "winner" out of fresh air, whilst sitting back and waiting to slag them off if they get it wrong again.

Agree. He was doing a decent job in the Premiership for us, even though he wasn't always consistent. He never had a proper run in the team this season or last season when he really should have. Far more natural ability than players like Sodje.
As for Hudson he's a standard Championship centre back. He makes mistakes, he has good games. No doubt if Fortune and/or Hudson leave for Championship sides, they'll do a decent job. They won't be perfect, but their new clubs won't expect them to be.

That's very similar to how I feel. Keep the better players, get at least one good goalscorer in, have a good pre-season and get the time as fit as possible and we should do well.
Totally agree with Parky staying - at least up til Christmas...
The last thing this club needs is to jump straight back on the managerial roundabout again at the moment..
Whether folk like it or not, stability is needed at the moment - something that this club hasn't had since Curbs left to be honest.
Performances of late HAVE been better - must be difficult to gee players up when the writing is on the wall, so for me Parky should stay - for now anyway !!
( Unless of course a HUGE cash injection and takeover changes things that is ! )
How about a compromise solution? Parky stays and reverts to assistant manager, we try the Goat idea (see other thread), and if the Goat doesn't have us in a play off place by Christmas, hey presto...we have Parky waiting in the wings to step in and save our season....sorted.
[cite]Posted By: northstandsteve[/cite]hudson worst centre half i have ever seen
Nonsense. You've seen a lot worse. A long line stretching back to Les Berry. I suspect Hudson will be playing for a successful Championship side next season and the anti-brigade will have a lot more to complain about in terms of his replacement.
I see you are these fickle fans who will no doubt turn up to the protest against the board after Norwich.
Can you not see that he has got us playing without any fear and we look dangerous when we go on the attack. Give him all our backing and im sure he will deliever come May next year.

There's so much wrong with that statement I'd like to reply but don't know quite where to begin...

that is the funniest thing I have heard for ages. Really, very good.

Parky himself made the point that the fans generated an atmosphere on Saturday that very few other clubs could match. Our support has grown a lot since I started going and I always thought we'd lose 10,000 johnny come latelys, the second we dropped out of the prem, but we didn't. Our support is anything but fickle. If anything, too patient. In all honesty name another team that would put up with the shit that we have this year, in as loyal and good natured way.

agreed entirely. At a lot of other Clubs they'd have been riots by now.

I aint fickle far from it and IMO the board does need to know that it has Fecked us good and proper, i didnt do it my mates didnt do it between Parky and Pardew it was done but them putting Parky in there in the first place did it also . So please dont tell me that i can not protest agianst them if i want without being called fickle. I have demonstrated in my own way and that is by working instead of going along to have the craic on a saturday and i will do the same against Narwich, But if ever there was a period in our history where those who wish to want to be directly critical of anyone and everyone who has contributed to this shoddy fecking mess then this is it and they should be able to do so with out criticism or judgement unless they over step the boundary of decency.
as to the 2nd point i disagree whole heartedly with your comment
[cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]I was warming to the goat idea but wondered if a Sheep would be better. At least if it failed we could make a coat out of it.
A sheep wouldn't make a good manager.
Too easy for players to pull the wool over his eyes
There's certainly been some woolly minded thinking: perhaps Shearer could be offered the job, but I've heard he's always in the baa! Alright I'll flock off!

I think we can say that callumcafc is definately no.2

Or reading you across a number of different threads - I think we have got the point
Seriously, I doubt if any one of us in charge for 27 games or whatever he had could get less than 3 wins. I'd like him out asap, if not sooner.

Unless he's called Shaun.
Now that we've improved a bit, we're no longer Ewe-sless,
