I am looking forward to Saturday

edited April 2009 in General Charlton
At least then it will be all over and then I can enjoy the last three games on their merit (probably not a lot then). Although I have believed we are down for some months the hope lingers on in the dark corners of my mind, causing anguish to sneak out and overtake me every weekend.

A while back I sadi I would be happy if we closed the gap up, we can manage that now if no other team claims a point. Under Pardew we never looked a team and we had too many skillfull players who did not contribute a shift, now we have a team that works for each other, yet in tight games we lack that little bit extra to get the win. We could have won our our last three and those extra seven points would have made Saturday's game interesting for altogether different reasons.

When the inevitable happens lets show some togetherness please, the time for anger has long gone.

  • pretty much my take on it mate.
  • I'd like to see us go down fighting and not acepting the inevitable. There are a few players who'll be playing for contracts - either at Charlton or elsewhere and the players owe us a strong home performance.
  • Spot on. I said before the Brum game that, for a variety of reasons, all I wanted was the team to show some fight, passion and togetherness going into the final few games.
  • It should be a good atmosphere on Saturday, we're usually pretty loud when we go down. I thought we were pretty decent against Brum.
