Sky Sports News will show a 3minute video showing the fall of relegation threatened championship club, Charlton Athletic. Charlton stand rock bottom of the english second teir, 12 points a drift from safety with only 5 games to go. On Monday 13th April, Charlton will try to escape relegation for one more game at the hands of Coventry at the richo stadium and if results do not go there way they will be relegated for the second time in 3 years. It will show the downful of relegation to the Championship and the past 4 managers since Curbishley's left the club and what they acheived. They also suggested that the fans should have enjoyed the good times rather than moan about being "only" mid table in the Prem.
Paul Jewell said that Curbs did a marvellous job.
Hard to disagree really although I know it is only me, Browneye and OOH Ahh who think that way:-)

I know you're only kinda joking, but nearly all of us think the same. We just don't keep banging on about it every time we post, because it's exceedingly boring. (No offence).
Just relaying what was said.
The truth hurts unfortunately.
This is always made out as if all 20,000 odd fans all wanted him out, which of course it wasn't like that at all.
It sounds good though, doesn't it? It feeds the SS machine. Cue deadbeats like Merson saying "be careful what you wish for" - and before anyone says it, I know it was Cottee - but can't stand Mersons smug boat on my telly, the know-nothing tosspot.
Sky sports is about as representative of real football as vanessa feltz is of hunger strikes.
Yeah that's what it's all about. Just a bit frustrating they make it look like no fans appreciated Curbishley at the time and thought we were bigger than we were.
You forget, hundreds of fans mill around The Valley on a non-matchday Bank Holiday Monday....
Of course! Still when have the media let facts get in the way of spicing up their stories.
Waiting for later when they speak to their "reliable sources" representative of 99.9% of Charlton "fans who will no doubt supposedly tell them that we wouldnt be in this mess if we had never appointed Curbs or sacked him after he failed to get us into the World cup final after 2 seasons at the helm.
not much choice today - have they?
I'm not so sure they hated us ....... just treated us like an irritating little upstart that wouldn't go away.
But at least they were always kind enough to give us 30 seconds, 2 minutes from the end each week.
Cheers, guys. All of us at plucky little Charlton were eternally grateful.
i for one would be insulted if they didn't mention what a disaster it is for us to have fallen from the prem to league one in such a short time ... cos that takes some doing? has anyone else done it that quick after spending a few years in the top flight
we are a very bad joke at the moment and it isn't funny(unless you're a palace fan)

Good points, the fact is that the Charlton story is news and that Charlton's slide has garnered media interest is due in part to the perception of our club and like it or lump it the Prem years have raised the profile of the club and we are generally percieved as a reasonably big club. Thus the outside world is shocked at our slide, whilst not quite Man City or maybe Leeds United we are indeed viewed as the next biggest Premier League crash and burn story. If this had happened to Palace there would be no media outcry for reasons so obvious as to not be worth stating.
At the risk of getting as boring as Ohhaahh, I will repeat what I have said before. The logical conclusion of what the pundits say, is that we all give up on our clubs ever winning anything and sit there happy while their four favourites give us a hiding. Eventually bored with that, we all give up altogether - thats all 88 other teams, and they are left with nothing. It makes my blood boil to hear those cheeky bastards come out with that knid of sh**e unopposed time and time again. Oh for the opportunity to put my point across to their faces and see what they come up with in their defence...
Don't be silly, we are not allowed to be ambitious - we should accept our natural status as a div 2/3 team ;-)
