Thanks to the club

In a season of bad news and especially at a time when staff are no doubt worrying about their jobs I would just like to say a massive thanks to the club (and especially the staff) for getting two programmes signed for me. I took along my two young nephews for their first games ever a couple of weeks ago and thought it would be great to get the programmes signed as a souvenir of their first games (and to ensure they are Charlton forever more!).

I sent the programmes in with a small donation to the Charlton Trust as a gesture and back they come with 10 signatures each (all the important ones too!). So a massive thanks to the staff, players etc in doing this for me.

Interesting how it contrasts to Burnley, I picked a Burnley fan out of the 'secret santa' last year and did the same thing for him, Burnley held onto the programme for 2 weeks and sent it back with 1 signature - you couldn't even tell who it was, what a waste of time.

Anyway, given there has been a lot of discussion about the club being less responsive to fans etc on here, i wanted to put this up as a thanks, small gesture but much appreciated.

  • makes the redundancies all the more annoying as the people at the club who've I've met are good people who do care and go out of their way for the fans.

    Well done CAFC
  • Never had an issue with the Charlton staff, especially the backroom guys, always been very fair and professional.
I used to hire the Valley for my junior football club for an awards night, the club were really supportive and offered us an amazing financial deal.

They got a top player to come along for the kids, tickets for the raffle etc, even the West Ham supporters at the club had to admit that it was a cracking evening.
Good to see that the club is looking after it's customers still.
  • We will always be a decent friendly football club, that's why it is always a privilige to support the club, it's actions like the above that keep the focus on community and young fans that make Charlton a little bit more.
  • Big up the positive news! Good to hear valleyman.
