Will the new ST prices make you renew?

edited April 2009 in General Charlton
I am very concerned to what the squad will look like next year before I invest, therefore I think the club need to be more honest and open about what it is likely to look like and who they at least want to keep as the core if anyone. If that's too hard to do, I feel they should extend the deadline for renewals to as late as possible.

Comments

  • I was going to renew before the announcement of the reductions.I think there's going to be wholesale changes and the side that runs out next August be a whole lot different from the one that finishes the Norwich game in May.So .....bring it on :)
  • Was going to renew anyway. But tbh I expected a much better incentive than £25 off for League One football.
  • Finances permitting, I was always going to renew anyway, not dependent on any reduction which is a good job!!!
  • Who they keep is largely dependent on how many season tickets we can sell.....more than ever, this club needs us to support them in every way that we can...the directors and in particular Derek Chappell have dug deep, now we need to do what we can.....11 players are out of contract by the way, not the 14-15 that has been bandied about
  • I am not sure that is entirely the case, it wasn't with other players sales for example
  • Razil.....I asked the question mate, thats the answers I got...take it or leave it
  • The club need to convince the wider fan base by a statement of intent, not sure that's really happened yet. I do get where they are coming from, but for example some players may have release clauses and some may not be getting new deals or want them. We need a rough sketch of who this leaves from the club, to convince us. I am not criticsing here, just suggesting it might help get more renewals.
  • I guess one could always get a refund.
  • Fair point Razil. I will come back on this when Ive had a point of council confirmed

I don't think that the reduction is price will really make a great deal of differennce.

Reading many of the posts on here it seems that those that want a season ticket will find the cash and would have done even if the price hadn't been reduced.

I haven't had a season ticket since Curbisley's last season and to be honest have enjoyed going more when I don't feel obligated to go, like I did when I had a season ticket.

I will be waiting to see what the on the day ticket prices will be and the cost of those will be the deciding factor as to how many games I go to.

I do agree with Razel's point about a statement of intent though.

  • Nope and I really don't like this 'the club need your support now more than ever' laugh either, or the 'if enough people don't renew we can;t afford to replace parky, so sign up and he'll go'.

They employed the idiot, despite having an awful record as a manager is this league, watched him totally and utterly fail as manager, then gave him the permanent job.

To be fair I wouldnt be renewing whatever the price due to where I live now but some of the comments above are hillarious, especially when you consider this is the very same club who can't give us an honest answer about when Pardkinson is in charge till.
  • They won't MAKE me renew - but I will sign up for one this year as i love Charlton and will happily pledge my £250 ;o) what's that 1 days wages for Jonjo
