Have just found some old photos of the derelict Valley that I took when on a visit with the kids circa 1987. One is of the Harvey Gardens turnstiles: so what was the price of entry to the ground shown above each one? (No digging out old snaps/tickets etc.!)

    Sorry for the delay chaps, this old wind up computer thing went wrong and I had to start again. Anyway, Mr. Mclovin is the closest so far with oohaa paying over the odds.
    As for the footie ball, the weeds and bushes are pretty healthy round there but it could be the ball sitting there. I vaguely remember my son kicking something around when we were there. Then again it might have been his sister he was booting!

    Spot on Shirty5, £3.20 it was. The snap just misses the Juniors gate but it was exactly half the adult price, I remember. Anyone want to hazard a guess at the souvenir we took away: clue- it was something to do with half-time.

    The old half time scoreboard would have been a bit large!

    Close enough Len: the no.2 the old fella used to use for the HT scores. I wonder what the best bit of memorabilia was that anyone got away with.

    Got a seat from the old west, a peg from the dressing room.

    A sword from the top of the gate, a pice of turf (now sadly gone) and the name plaques from under the seats in the directors box

    One of the reasons we went that day was to see if there were any of those swords left: took a hacksaw but didn't need it: all gone!
