Just thought Id let you know that the members of the Fans Forum, Myself, Dave Rudd, Geoff Billingsley, Tony Garrett, Gavin Barrett (Not sure about Sacha Zarb, perhaps he will confirm when he sees this) will be assembled between the main reception and Bartrams this coming Saturday and for all the remaining Saturday home games. We have a large banner and contact cards to hand out for any fan who has any queries/questions or suggestions, and to obviously put faces to names.
Gary Davenport will be shadowing Mick Everitt for the day to better understand the goings on behind the scenes on a match day.
Hope to meet some of you on Saturday....

This can't be for real!

Come and say hi if you get a chance
That would have been 2 o'clock or shortly after.
Dave appeared to be the only guy around when I turned up with my daughter and he was deep in conversation with a woman.
I was going to say hello and wish you (as a group) all the best personally but didn't for the reasons mentioned.
Were the members able to talk to many people? was it people approaching you guys to find out more/offer views etc, or was it more forum members approaching supporters in the area?
It's a good idea to make yourselves visible like this.
We kind of hovered around Tel's excellent banner and either approached anyone who showed some interest or fielded questions and chatted with those who were a bit more adventurous. I spoke with a number of people but, as Tel says, it became very clear that the Fans' Forum is not yet widely known. We distributed a number of business cards with our website address (www.charltonfansforum.co.uk) and contact e-mail addresses on them. I gave out more cards in the Lower North and people seemed genuinely interested, but again unaware of who we are or what our role is. It was a genuine eye-opener for me, and made me realise even more that, for all the chatroom stuff, features in the programme etc, there is no substitute for one-to-one contact.
