Looking Back To The Prem

edited March 2009 in General Charlton
As we move further away from the top flight of English football, a time to reflect.
What were your Top 5 games form our spell in the Prem? Only from our long, second stay and with a short explanation why.

1) 3-3 V Man Utd - In the words of Chirpy Red Jnr:"The game that changed my life Dad" Fergie casualy makes 3 subs and we fight back form 3-1 down to draw. Passion and commitment. My son (5 at the time) was hooked 100% on Football and CAFC ever since.
2) 4-4 V West Ham - Cracking night game with everything.
3) 2-0 V Liverpool, 7th Dec 2002 - I had £100 on correct score, don't know why. hardly ever bet on football but just had a feeling that day.
4) 2-0 V Liverpool Feb 2006 - We beat the European Champions. Downside, 25% of our fans left before the end. That still rankles with me today.
5) 4-0 V West Ham 2007 - Awesome, we were safe after that game and WHU were down, or so we thought!

I can't agree with that. I would include the Chelsea win, but that game against Liverpool had the added emotion of the 10th anniversary of the return to the Valley, and the rerun of the march by fans from Woolwich town Hall to the ground before the kick off.

Not a top 5, but best matches I can remember, sure there's a few more

5-0 Southampton - first Prem win and another Mendonca hat trick.
4-3 Aston Villa - wasn't there but remember seeing the goals come through on Sky Sports
    3-3 Man Utd
4-2 Arsenal - wasn't there, couldn't even watch it, came back from holiday and the plane landed not long after the game finished.
    3-2 Liverpool
    4-2 Chelsea
1-1 Chelsea in the Carling Cup if that counts, won on penalties
    4-0 West Ham
