Dear Lord dont that seem a life time ago ?a win, without playing well.

The thought that ok we didnt have cover at centre back and the fire sale was frightening but FFS who could have thought then what we have been through.

  • dont worry parky is the man to get us out of this.
  • absolutely
  • Charlton: Weaver; Semedo, Youga, Hudson, Fortune; Sam, Racon, Shelvey, J Thomas; Varney, Gray.

Subs (not used): Elliot, Basey, Holland, Bouazza, Dickson.

    Look at the team.

Bar the 2 goons up front and Superstar Thomas theres not a lot of difference to what we have now.

Lack of firepower, losing Racon and the truly awful form of Hudson from September onwards has been the biggest factor for me.

oh and a half decent manager wouldn't have gone a miss either. . .
  • Losing Fortune is also a factor although I realise many will disagree.
  • 4-2 against Reading was more impressive.

The game vs Swansea they matched us, just they couldn't put the ball in the net.
  • I did say after the Swansea game that the wrong team won and they would be travelling back down the M4 wondering how they came away without any points.

I then went onto reply to a post that asked "would you rather see us play well and lose or play badly and win with a scrappy 1-0"

I was castigated at the time by saying that I would rather see us play well and lose (ala Swansea that day) than to see us win wih a scrappy 1-0 (Donny away for example).........but I was right all the time. If you play well most of the time you are going to win more than you lose and if you play badly all he time (ring any bells ?) but win the odd game by a scrappy 1-0 then you aren' going to do very well.

    Case rested, m'lud.

I agree. He should be capable of being one of the better centre backs in this league, never really had a long run due to injury and last season rotation of the team.

Also had Semedo at right back, where I think he'd be very reliable and not the worst going forward. At times doesn't look comfortable enough with the ball when he's in midfield.

I wasn't convinced after that game. A friend that went up with us phoned up one of the phone ins, and said it was like last season, we weren't convincing, football wasn't good etc, they disagreed and on Addickted, if not here, someone had a moan about a fan phoning in and not being happy even after a win. We weren't wrong though, and it showed it wasn't enough as the season went by. We scored from two set pieces and didn't look like scoring any other way.
  • Speaking of Semedo is he out for the rest of the season?
  • Might be back near the end of the season I think.
  • Good question .... at the time he was injured, it was said he'd be out for 2 months, back in March.
