Personally, i was underwhelmed when i went to a Barca game. The stadium seemed really tired, particularly the wooden bench seating area we were in, you were a mile away from the pitch, the game was played at a very slow pace and there was zero atmosphere. A good trip, but as i missed the 4-0 demolition of Wham because of it, i know what game i'd rather have been at !

We're not going to be there either. We're going to Fiorentina v Siena instead.
The last home game I missed was Villa - I was at Roma v Lazio instead. can't remember the game and if it was good (except Roma won 2-0), could barely see from holding up Ultra's posters and the crowd was far more entertaining. Totti was paraded round on a disabled car thing waving at everyone as if he was the pope.
Enjoy the Nou Camp. I went there in July - sadly out of season so didn't catch a match. Who's playing?
I went to the Nou a few years back and was really impressed. I was in the lower tier behid the goal about 10-15 rows back, atmosphere was great as it was a night game but the game was relativly dull, Barcelona 1 Villerael 0, Eto'o scored in the first half. Ronaldinho didn't play which was a let down cause it was a week before the CL semi's, which they went on to win and beat Arsenal in the final, get in.

Huh, I see. I let people know I'm coming up for the Preston game - and half of Charlton Life flee the country....... lol
oh no sorry oggy! you'll have to take my place with the boo'ing moany negative masses and get quietly frustrated. fingers crossed that won't happen, and we'll be 3-0 up and sailing!

The boo-ers will wither and shrivel under the blast of my relentless optimism - even if we yet again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Match Report: Kind of know what you are saying, stadium old but did have proper seats all the way around from what we could see. Not full, 75000 crowd and they did not make much noise apart from when they scored, which they did frequently. Barca won 6-0 and were very impressive, hoping they play Arsenal in Champions League final. The fans do throw lots of paper planes - strange. Really enjoyed it, we were wondering if the Addicks would have fared better than Malaga who were very rarely in Barca's half and had very little possesion and i can not remember a shot on goal. I know the result but did we miss much at the Valley?

Did the tour of the ground a couple of years back, impressive then, but not been to a game there.

Went a few years back - Barca beat Osasuna 2-1.
Thought the ground was great once inside it. We bought 12 tickets day before the game, when doing the tour and the museum, and were front row, middle tier behind the goal on the left as you look on TV. Fantastic view, beer sellers walking around (who needs the peanut man), and about 12 euros a ticket.
Right about the atmosphere though, althoguh the club song at the beginning was good - 'Barca,Barca,Baaaaaaarrrrrrrrca' Remember the centre back De Boer twin do a fantastic bit of defending, robbing the striker and evading a couple of tackles, only to get booed for rolling the ball back to the goalie. Did you see loads of bats flying out from under the tiers?

well i hope i miss a 4-0 demolition of Preston
Congrats
Will be there bringing along a couple of friends as well
Was up in the Gods but my 7 year old son absolutely loved it.
That said was the most dull game of football ever.
The stadium maybe getting old but its an exciting place to watch a game.
Better than watching us play bloody Preston that's for sure!
Feet in Spain, heart in pain.

Have a great time in Italy, Suz !
Did you get any stick for that?
To be honest I am thinking of blowing out the Birmingham game to see the True Champs of Scotland (No not Celtic) live for the first time.
