We can fill The Valley next season

National League One rugby side Nottingham had a larger crowd in than usual for their match against Exeter Chiefs on Sunday.

But it's a safe bet they were not put off by a louder roar from the Meadow Lane stands - as the extra faces were inflatable "supporters".

About 1,000 inflatable fans were put in the stadium by Airheads, a Nottingham-based company who specialise in enhancing crowd scenes for films, TV, commercials and promotional work.

The firm spent hours blowing up and dressing up the supporters, who sat in the Family Stand, attempting to make them look indistinguishable from the normal fans.

Probably be nosier than the West Stand etc

No Werthers wrappers to sweep up either.

    Inflatable supporters ....?
That'll get the crowd pumped up.

I've heard of refs blowing up at full time.

Haven't they got any inflatable players - we could do with another striker good in the air.
No use, he'd only balloon it over the bar.
  • Plastic fans obviously.
  • We should puff out our chests that we haven't been reduced to this.

  • Presumably the inflatatble players would be on inflated wages.

lol still would be a good manager for us :)
  • Good idea methinks, much easier to let ourselves down.
  • Always deflated after a match.

And that's without any little pricks around to puncture confidence.
